Bffs journals - complete set available online to members!

Thank you Jerry, I have posted this in the members area.  For those having download difficulties some insight into whether this resolves the issues will be helpful.  We can offer a Lo and Hi res versions of the Journal in the future if this works better for folks.

Mark, Adobe software now re-installed and working again (for how long, one wonders?). New pdf for Journal 108 is in the dropbox. Smallest I can get it without major surgery, very low quality. Let me know if it you want me to revisit some of the other colour Journals. Jerry

I looked at this a bit more tonight and my guess at the moment is it has to do with the size of the PDF files.  Those in color are in the 6 - 7 mb range vs. about 1/2 of that for the black and white.  Jerry Mortimore is going to look at possibly a lower res version of the color versions to bring the file size down - we may wind up having high and low res versions for folks.  (On a slower internet line this becomes an issue as the browser will eventually time out as it waits for the file to download.)

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this so we are making some assumptions.

While Jerry produces a low res version I would also recommend right clicking on the files and dowloading them to your PC rather than just opening the PDF files.  This will get around the time out issue you may be having by opening the file.

I will post something to test once it is ready.

If anyone else continues to have issue please let me know.

Hi Mark

I have windows system and I have been trying to get into vol 108 but no success all I get is the first page, the system runs and runs, I cannot even get the sidebars to work showing the page thumbnails etc.
My system seems to work quite wll on other sites just this one that is the problem.

Which Journals are you trying to look at, I may have a bad link?  And which browser and Operating system are you using?  I have tested with Firefox and Safari without issue.


Please try accessing the upper menu bar option showing BFFS Journals.


And let me know if this works better for you.  The is link is at the top menu of the screen.

P.S. One other possibility is the PDF is still loading which is why you see the first page, i.e. it will eventually load the rest.  I notice on my connection Firefox is a bit laggy - it shows 24 pages correctly but takes a minute or so to load.  Each issue is about 4 -5 mb each so that will be a possible issue for some.

 I have tried to look into the journals today without success.
The front page comes up but when I go to look inside all I get are blank pages, this also occur as when I try to look using the thumbnails.
Any idea what I am doing wrong

With a suitable roll of drums I can announce that thanks to Jerry Mortimore's amazing dedication all 108 Journals will be available online.

Rather than a simple scan of a number of the journals Jerry has been converting them into the current format and making sure the colors are matched consistently.  This has resulted in a very high quality for the issues with color in particular.

He has indicated some additional tuning still to be done and a few extras to come but, the complete library is there in full for members to enjoy.
