Nick,  Some great potential pieces and I think they all have possibility. I see my choices change depending on my mood.  Right now the emotion shown in the mounted Asian warrior is number one with Samson number two. The tea service with the dragon and knight bring a smile to my face.  Thanks.
Joe

Well, I think, I mentioned it already,
bit anyway:

1st choice  for teh card playing dragon and knight
2nd choice for  Samson and the Lion
Liquorice, sire, is not the least important of our benefits out of the dark heart of Arabia.

My choice would be the Chinese warrior.
Looking at the picture I think it would make a super figure.
Rapunzel would be my second pick.

Well, St George has already been done (at least 2 I know of out there) and the one below is a little too cartoonish for me.

I'd go with, in order of preference: 1. Chinese Warrior (Samurai?); 2. Rapunzel; or 3.Knight.

I think this is a great idea and I'm sure it will be a hit with the members.

What size figure? I hope at least 60mm!

Report on the AGM

There were 20 members who attended the AGM this year, and a fine display of figures were put out on the tables.
Support from members of the public and traders/ clubs at smaller shows worldwide, does appear to be heading downwards, but the major shows are still well attended overall. The BFFS still try to attend where we can, with Ransart, Euro, Eindhoven, and Monte Sans Savino being the main shows at present, and of coarse Kulmbach this year.
Next year Is Gerry Larkins 60th Birthday and we are intending to visit Philadelphia again.

Ed reported that the membership numbers are stable, which is always nice to know, and funds are up from last year. The accounts will appear in the next issue of the Journal.
As mentioned, it is Kulmbach in August and at the AGM it was proposed that an extra journal be included at the end of the year specifically as a “ Kulmbach Special “ showing photos of the event as well as the flat figures in the competition, so that those members unable to attend can get a feel of what the show is all about.  This motion was unanimously agreed.
This issue will also appear online for those members who do not get a “paper” copy of the Journal.

It was proposed last year that we create a set of 30mm figures of the English Commanders at Agincourt for Kulmbach this year, however I found out that the Editor who produced the French Commanders last time around, planned to release this set himself this year, and as he is one of our members in Italy I felt this would be disrespectful to him, so the idea was shelved. However,
Ed proposed  that as funds are good, we could produce a figure to be given Free of Charge to all our members instead, and again this was very well received and unanimously agreed.
With that in mind, I have included below a few ideas of a figure we could do. The figure is free to all those currently Full Members who have paid there subscriptions in full. Associates on the forum are not Full members, and until they join the Society would not be allegeable for this offer. However, it was also proposed that the figure could be released for sale to rebuild the funds used.

I would appreciate it if you could PM me with your choice of figure and the winning figure will be chosen. I know not all figures appeal to everyone, so I apologise in advance if this is the case. I have chosen 5 figures I think would make a very nice figure, but I am open at this stage to accept alternatives, but I hope you will like at least 1 of the ones I have selected. This will also appear in the journal for those members not on the forum, so I hope to get a full response by June/July as I will be approaching engravers at Kulmbach to commission the piece.

I would like to thank in particular Mark, our web wizard for everything he does for us on this site and all the Committee members who spend their free time arranging and organising for the society.

Thank You.    Nicholas

And now the figures.  Ps my favourite is St George
