I use Paynes´s Grey and Indigo for the shadow of a white horse and it´ll run...

Your Richelieu looks great. The horse - yes, a little bit like marble.  ;)
Needs a few shadows and it will work......

Managed to get a little bit done to the horse, however!!! :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\  Richelieu now looks like he's sitting on a stone horse :o :o

Well the odd part is I use metallic paints for 30mm rounds and there doesn't seem to be an issue. Old paint maybe... I have used NMM techniques on some pieces, but normally I like to polish the metal parts and then stain them with oils. Since Richie's armor was putty, that wasn't an option. Will rethink.  ???

I've given up to use metal powder in metal for 30mm fats . Better to use NMM, not so hard to use...

I've made some progress! The armor has a base coat, but I'm not happy with it; the metal pigments in the paint seem too large for the scale. The skin tones are done, as are the hair, beard, and cap. The cloak is about 75% done, while the dapple gray horse is about 90+% done. To be continued...
