Just a funny anecdote. I was watching a talk show and Martin was the guest. The host commented that he keeps killing off the most loved characters. The host asked if any of the actors had ever pleaded with him not to kill them off. Martin said no, but, he had been at a cocktail party a week earlier and was having a drink with three of the actors, and was thinking to himself that two you guys don't know it yet but your "dead men walking."  :D

If it weren't for the nudity and sex, I wouldn't know WHAT was going on.  ::)   Lots of characters to keep track of..

I have read all of the books in the Fire and Ice series. Waiting with bated breath for the next book.  No book, no season 6. Real men read the books - weenies watch the series. Actually I do both since the series does not exactly follow the books.  Some characters are dead in the books but alive on the show and some are alive in the books and suffered ignominius deaths on the show.

Casper, You are correct. The author George R. R. Martin is a collector of figures and at one time was a regular at the M.F.C.A. show in the U.s.

Hi
Game of Thrones is a great TV series

I am up to date eagerly awaiting series six

As for content its grown up TV
and very entertaining

Its also best not to get too attached to any character as the body count piles up
as the series progresses

Hope you enjoy it Brian

Isn't the author George R. R. Martin a collector of British-style 54mm knights?

Yes there is quite a good story behind it all, but it takes 3/4 episodes to pick up the thread. the main problem is knowing where all the kingdoms are relative to each other!!   keep going, its well worth it
