I've been given Foch. It's not my period, and as everyone knows, history ended in 1821 with the death of Napoleon. I have no problem with Foch's uniform, but cannot find details of the horse furniture. What colour leather for the straps, what metal for stirrups and spurs, buckles and breast ornament. What about the schabraque and holster covers? Any help would be most welcome.

Hello Nick,

Richelieu looks better from step to step. It´s a lot of fun to paint such figures.

Best regards

Started the horse, building up the highlight first before the darker pinto colour

Late to the Party!
My figure was sent to an address I moved away from years ago...but luckily it has just reached me.
I got Vercingetorix, Will start on him next week when back from a short golfing break.

Roland, I figured as much. The gradations in tone are great; very smooth.

Nick, oddly enough I was looking at the same crest for the pistol holder. That idea warranted a rethink when I saw the complexity. I didn't think of culling it down to just the three chevrons - well done. I do want to do something with it, tho'. Anything to break the expanse of gray horse and red cloak. Maybe a NASCAR sticker...  8)

He looks good with his lights and shadows.

I think as cardinal he gets a blazon from his church. I looked at Wikipedia.

Richelieu nearly done ;)  not sure if he would have had his family crest showing, but it does fit in the shield nicely on his pistol holder!

Thank You all,  Michael Harding oils Glen ;)

I must say it is nice that a project has been so well received. Perhaps it's because of the Mignot figures and the different subjects within it.

The last project ( 30 years war ) did well, but this one has really got the juices flowing

Well done Michael  ;)

Nick/Roland, all looking good. Oils or acrylics? I've started the sculpting process on my Richelieu - he's going to get some armor.

Bit more detail work and  cleaning up areas that needed it.  Although there has been a fair bit of work done, it doesn't actually show.  ;D       poor photo as well!! :(
