in a high quality with only a few figures.

I have no problem with hijacked threads, I've learnt some pretty interesting stuff that way.

Yo Mark, I did see the 1001 Nights pic. It's small, dark, and muddy. There's just no enough there for me to consider purchasing. It also seems to be sold only as a set. I'd rather cherry-pick 6-7 pieces or so and go from there. As I am not a collector, everything I buy, I buy with the intent to actually paint. But whatever I buy has to be good - accurate in both dimension and perspective as well as detail. A drawing or painted figure gives me no real indication of what the metal is really like. Neither does poor photography. So, I wait...

Thanks for your comment, and I am asking to Mark where to place.
The BFFS project and the Workbench sections are located elsewhere, where I tought and placed it would be most appropriate, as it is a Work-in-Process posting.
But I can also post it as it is completed here, when ready... I am a slow painter .... and I have some visit, so matter of one or two weeks more..
Mark, can you advise and if better, move it accordingly?

I've seen that set Michael. Or more accurately, a catalog .pdf of drawings. If I can't see the actual metal, I pass. Berliner Zinnfiguren also has a 1001 Nights Bath set - mostly nudes, but some background scenery. They show it painted, but no images of the bare metal. Again, I pass... Drawings and painted figures are not a selling point with me. Drawings indicate intent, but not necessarily what was actually engraved in terms of detail, perspective, etc. Likewise, a skilled painter can hide a multitude of sins with oil paint. This might be a bit harsh, I know, but my hobby budget is limited.


@Michel: I can't see your Charles X. Since this is a group-wide project, you may want to post it where everyone can see it.

Hello Glen,

it´s ok to convert the Richelieu to a figure with armor. I think it´ll look good and it´s not a big conversation.

Several years ago I saw a nice harem of Fritz Menz. As basic figures he used the WIMOR-Harem 1001 night
and additional his saracens around as guard.

For the walls he used small carpets from an old carpet book.

Michael, I have an idea...   I'd like to do a minor conversion on Richie to depict armor like that in the painting of him standing on the docks. Some scraping and minor puttywork is all that's needed; then paint. I just want to do something that's a little different from all of the others. Is that ok?
