Hallo Nick,

I saw yesterday the figures you´ll edit with the BFFS in paper on the AFCFEF-side and now I think they are
be worth to edit them all. Maybe you can show this pictures on the side (Copyright ?).

Don´t give up with the idea.

Best regards

Michael

Thanks all, keep the comments comeing  ;)  not looking very positive yet :o   ;D ;D

Wolfgang, I like the cavalier on the horse, it would fit in with this series very well.

Just a thought for you all, as it has been mentioned, with regards  British subjects, Vladimir will probably be doing our 2016 figure. This yearly range of figures will be subjects from British literature.

At the end of the day, maybe a series is out of the question, and we will just produce another random figure, but I was trying to build up a collectors series,  which I think is much more original  :)

It seems the copy does not works
I try again

"First of all congratulations for running the society business so well
It is rather nice nowadays to be able to wonder what we could do with our money !
My feeling is that the Robin Hood success comes from the following reasons, without a particular order
Originality of the subject and design : never seen before
Universality of the subject; Robin Hood is a world wide known hero
Quality of the designer and engraver
Scale, not too big, not too small
  Reasonable cost for the quality

So what ?
The subject must catch interest of the biggest number of people; I just remind that we now are the International flat and not only the British
If possible the subject must be unseen
The quality must be among the best
The scale must match the actual trend, so not too small, my preference going to 40-45mm

I feel that the mode figures from Francis are good and international, nicely designed and could give very nice figures; I am quite sure they do not exist
But they are not so fun

I have the idea that with Robin we could start a funny and original serie by making figures issued from great historic movies or fantasy stories
What about Zorro, Ben Hur, Braveheart, Buffalo Bill, Ivanhoe and so ...
There are quite a lot of possibilities

Just an idea

Now I want to be a spoilsport, but some of the Kupfertichen of Jacques Callot (1592-1635)
figures were already implemented in 30 mm.

But the idea counts!
Thus, a Showing its Fangs of English history is reliable resultst.

Hallo Nick,

now I can better imagine the painted figures; I like the figure with the little children; they looks good.
I collect 30-years-war figures, too.

Best regards

Michael

To the original question: No. Neither the subjects nor the era are my area of interest.

Gerhard is right - why not expand the horizons? Mayans, Aztecs, Conquistadors; Samurais; Boxer Rebellion; Alamo defenders, Mexican troops; Steampunk; Sci-Fi; Wizards, warriors (male and female); Pin-ups from the 40s, 50s, and 60s; American Indians, cowboys, gunfighters, saloon girls; French maids; Picts, Celts; Zulus and soldiers of the 24th Foot; Border reivers; etc.

Gerhard, there's no need to apologize for common sense.

Cheers,

Glen

Nick
To me these are one of my favourite periods so i would be up for them.As they will be 54mm you could blend them with the fred rex card players for a different look. Will they get the members to purchase i think so remember how many of the project figures have been done same period. Finally Robin hood has sold mainly due to the quality of the casting if these are same you should be OK

Hallo committee,
Perhaps there should be a higher theme like"people on a market 1630"; all the people are doing
somethink like drinking, playing cards, hunting a pickpocket, buying, dancing, making music, etc.
So you´ll have a lot of "living" figures with one theme in your collection.

I think it´s not easy to animate the figures like a Mohr did it.

It´s only an idea to make the figures more attractive to collect and buy them.

Best regards

Hello
As not beeing a member I think if have to apologize first for this Statement.
Beautiful drawings and they will be beautiful Figures.

But the Name of your Society is INternational and British Flat Figure Society.
So why do you not edit real British themes. (Like the Robin Hood Group)
British History and Arts is rich of interesting subjects. From Queen Boudicca to the Rolling Stones.
Britain have a rich Folklore also.
And there are mäny American Members. Whats about Figures of American Subjects too.

I hope you will forgive my post.
Greetings from Austria
Gerhard

Hallo committee,

I think there is not enough activity; the first two figures look like statuaries.
There should be more contact between the figures. For example the pair should dance to
the music of the musician. Then they act together like the figures in the new Robin Hood figure
and tell us a little story.
Then I´ll buy them.

Best regards
