Thanks for the words. It was a nice figure to paint. I look forward to seeing all the other figures in Kulmbach.

Yes, very nicely done.

I am now terrified to finish my figure given all of the wonderful examples so far...

coming along nicely Roger :)

if your horse is slow Mark, mine is a deceased horse, it is no more!  it has breathed it's last and is kicking up the daisys, it is defunct of all movement, it has gone to a better place! it is a Dead Horse.

if it is not dead, then why did Brian Sellotape it to the card backing to make it stand up?????

perhaps it is sleeping!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hello Roger  :)Thanks very much for your answer. Yes, I know the thirty years war's date but I wondered if clothes had changed  between the beginning and the end of this war ? This, to be sure not to do historical's mistake. ;) Do you have advice about it ?

Ah I understand what you mean now Isabelle. I think clothing would have remained the same throughout the period.

P.S. My entry is at least two weeks away as I am away on vacation starting the end of the week - weekend painter...apparently my two figures are on an exceptionally slow horse.

Hallo Isabelle,
a good color documentation is in the book "Miniaturen Teil III" from Edition Krannich
with a lot of colored drawings of flat figures edited in the beginning in the 30 years.
Look at www.edition-krannich.de or next year in Kulmbach.
