Thanks to Brian, Nick and friends for making me welcome on the flats zone at
Euro Militaire - and to everyone who contributed exhibits to a display that I enjoyed a lot (
and from which I learned a thing or two
)
(Trade Hall)
(Flats exhibition and 2D Figurines on the balcony)
(my little contribution - thanks for including me in such a fine display)
(more exhibits including Eric's splendid elephants)
(mostly from the BFFS display, but the French in the middle are from the painting competition)Well, a long trek for me down from the East Midlands ... but I now know where it is and what it is like ... I think the group contributory exhibition table was a great idea, and there was nothing but interest and enthusiasm from visitors who browsed in our direction.
I am more a wargamer than a collector, and my collection (built around donations from
Society of Ancients founders
Tony Bath,
Deryck Guyler and
Phil Barker) is primarily geared for table top use, bringing ancient military history to life.
But I have come away keen to play a role in publicising the attractions of this unique style of military figure ... for painters, collectors, players and historians alike.
Well done
BFFS...
Phil Steele
