Congratulations - they look like nice acquistions which should paint up well.

I have a few Mike. The bases are unmarked so I could be wrong. I will post them on your new thread.

I must agree that the horses are somewhat out of scale but it must be remembered that these were produced as toys.
The figure below was engraved in 1920 at the same time as the Assyrian and Ethiopian chariots above. The horses are more to scale but the position of them all leaping at the same time is less credible. L Frank was engraving for Heinrichsen from 1893 or maybe even before as an apprentice.
If anyone has any figures engraved by Frank for the firm Heinrichsen then please join in and post them on the site Its not important if they are painted or not it is just to show what is available.
I will open another post under  Heinrichsens by Frank to make it easier to find. I am sure the likes of Eric, Brian and Charles have a good few and not forgetting Steve who has shown many painted Hienrichsens over the years.

These are very charming Mike, as twin no1 says, the horses are a bit simplistic but in quite a pleasant way. :)

Mike, especially love the Assyrian chariot.  The Trojan war piece is let down for me a bit by the figure itself though again your painting is delightful as always.  I envy how your colors all jump out at you - very unique style that I enjoy.

Good stuff and as you say a bit different.

These early figures are interesting Mike, but I have always found the horses too small and somewhat lacking in dynamism. I don't know who the designer was, but some like Bombled really give Frank figures some life. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

Very good idea to post these figures, Mike
It is very interesting to see the evolution of Frank engraving, but also of the design of figures
When back I will contribute to the topic

After a great start by Charles and Brian I will start to post figures engraved by L. Frank over the coming weeks. Some will be painted others not.
Early engravings by Frank as with all Heinrichsens vary in size (28mm-30mm) A lot of these figures come from quite naive designs and can seem a little simplistic. They do however have a certain charm and are very collectable.  Here are a couple of Chariots. As you can see both slightly out of scale but the engraving is superb. The figures are still available from Heinrichsen but are quite expensive at at about 4.5 Eur. each.
You can see by looking at the unpainted chariot the standard of engraving.
