Sir Eric,

This is very pleasant news.  I still would love to get the Bretegnier version of Louis XIV's staff.  Up until earlier this year I was not aware there are at times multiple engravings of the same designs as in this case - Bretegnier and Gottstein as well as a few partial renditions of several of the figures all done form the same drawings.

In this case there is also a large detail difference depending on engraver.

Anyway, exciting news.

I am also noticing a large number of pristine Gottstein sets showing up on Ebay of late as well as Mignot recently.  I am wondering if Leipzig collectors are producing a few more - just missed Gottsteins Valois today which went for a tidy sum.  Nice trend for Christmas.

Good new!
Guillaume Brétegnier announces he will progressively release sets from his grand-father moulds, among them many nice ones such as Joan of Arc, Louis XIV staff, and a lot of figures for the XVIII° century, the second french empire and WW I
He will also issue some of the Boverat figures which moulds have been kept by some collectors
