After reading the article in the Journal about the battle of Plassey 1756 where Clive won India :o   I took a good look at the figures and I thought to myself why would a Grenadier company of foot have the Mitre Cap in India  ???  I went to my Indian Army section of books and I came up with some interesting results :o  There was a 39th Regiment of Foot. Raised in 1702. Facings  where green  but Milan's list of 1749 gives pale green. Lace was white with a central blue curved worm and top of the square  the cuff was pointed and cuff slash laced with three buttons and one point to the lace. Cap was green with white facing and GR  Cypher . The Grenadier wings worn after 1752. tassel was mixed white and green ::)  Now in the East India Company by Osprey show them in a sum helmet witch I think they would have used.  Next time more about the figures Willie
