Shows / MONTROUGE 2025 (Paris FR) on April 5 & 6th , 2025
« Last post by Hannibal on September 14, 2025, 10:21:10 AM »

this show took place in Paris on April 5th and 6th, 2025
It is the 28th contest organised by the AFM, Association des Figures et Maquettes in Montrouge, parisian suburb.

I have loaded the picture of most flats and new resin half round bosses produced mostly by the French editor Centurion Miniatures, sometimes in various versions, flat, quarter round bosse or half round boss nd in one or two sizes.  There new flats are gaining rapidly in popularity in france and adjacent countries with new and younger painters, and contribute to renw our older and traditional painters, building therefore perhaps a new generation and style.

I was not present at the show, therefore I reconstituted the show from the pictures from five photographers obtaind from Fecabook, their orogon is given with each pictu as unbknownre for trace

With the description, I attempted when known, to give the editor and reference or name of the flat.
Names given in "..."  are given by the painter, , names given as '...) are given by the editor, and names without sign are purely fictive as unknown ...

There were:  35 painters with 67 works registered and photographed. 24 are ahlf-round bosses, catégorized sepoarately from the flats . Three category as novices (10), confirmed (8) and master (17) painters. (two in DRB and flats).  33 aards were distributed as certificates, brass, silver and gold.
A special trophy of Cthereine Cesario was also granted.

Pitcures can be found in the related show gallery:
International Flat Figure Society - British Flat Figure Society - Montrouge 2025

(I am working now on Versailles WME show , and some other previous ones);

If you find mistakes, omissions, or know some of the painters or works unidentified, please send me an MP, or a comment in the pictures comments to complete the information.

The Little Tin Toy Soldier has indeed for me too be an outstanding reference for the supply of flats, however with the recent wonderful decisons of your White House administration with regards to custom taxes, we can't order flats from the USA anymore and personnally I wish to ban any purchase of US products and trip to the USA for the rest of my life, with such coercitive strategy so I would not help me to acquire flats from the USA anymore at least till a new administration is installed and revert some of the decisions taken this year.

But it is certainly the best source of EU flats in the USA even if you pay them higher than last year ...

I do agree with Brian that IFFS Committee should now also react and provide its input on these discussions and development of flat paintings.
Let us see how log it shall take to read them as a proof of their involvement in the activities of the site, outside their annual AG.

I now that Mark is daily devoted to the excellent functioning of the site, and is responding promptly to requests adresed to him : thank you very warmly Mark for your ongoing support alsmost 365 days a year, each year of the past decades !!!!!  I have yself backlog with my entries on galleries these weeks ....

It is a pleasure to read that long lasting Members are reacting and offering their support on commenting... proving the site is still alive... It is the first step.

General Discussion / Flats to the U.S.
« Last post by Joerg on September 12, 2025, 12:56:46 PM »
In August I had to collect a parcel from my local post office.
It was MY parcel I had sent to a collector in the U.S., because U.S. customs hat rejected 4 flat figures from entering American soil.
Sad news for our American collector friends, I think.

Can only echo and repeat these posters about Jack and his website.  Perhaps add that Jack can probably source and obtain any needed or wanted flats.  Much appreciate the Little Tin Soldier!

So, someone and perhaps with a group of experienced guys should start from scratch a new list of editors "AFTER having contacted them" for being active and in business, and asked what they still sell or represent, and confirm theyr internet access, email, telephone and presence or not on EBay and other local disribution (like in the US, with the Litte Tin Toy Soldier, .." and replace or add with a date, a new post to be either progressively built, or a deadline like February 1st 2026to be issued ...

A first step to seucure supply.  Can someone do it in the USA?, in Italy, in Germany, in France, i Sweden, in Spain, in "other countries .... ??

There are a few names in the countries/areas designated within BFFS/IFFS (refer to the magazine), whi should do by default, unless someone else volunteer to replace them

That could be a good idea Michel!
Having a post that anyone can improve by his experiences.

The Little Tin Soldier is a New York based flat figure dealer. Jack Muldoon is still very much in business as of this posting, and can be reached through his website:  https://www.thelittletinsoldier.com For the USA he is our main source of flat figures.
When googling, it helps to google "The Little Tin Soldier Flat figures" to avoid all the other references to The Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale and similar hits.
