I believe the decision on the project has been made and their waiting for the final drawings.

As mentioned we had 25 members in the old figure consortium, this meant 25 ideas of what the figure should be!!  We spent more time talking then making the figure and got nowhere   ;D now it is decided at the AGM/Show

looking at the photos think I need a bit more work on the new figure   :-[

Forgive me if have overlooked any previous discussion on this project.
I am new around here, I am a (nother) collector from Germany enjoying this Forum but have not posted anything yet - I hope to alter that as of today. Thank You and good bye for now.
Kind Regards
Wolfgang

14 years ago 25 members of the BFFS clubbed together to produce a special figure for the 25th year of the society.
Heading the team was Jacques from Glorious Empires and one of the founders of the BFFS, lots of ideas put forward and the Friends 1815 was chosen.
The design was from a quick sketch that was tweaked here and tweaked there and with the help from A.Gaggelmann  the drawing was ready,   Daniel Lepeltier  offered to do the engraving and one of our best was ready for casting which Jacques stepped in and did or us.

Many copies have been sold at shows and through this forum, I thought I would visit the figure again, having painted it a few times I needed a change, this time a Prussian Fusilier, Silesia and British "12th Suffolk " Regiment.

We are now coming up to 40 years of the Society and it looks like a figure is to be produced to celebrate this mile stone, not by 25 members this time but all of the Society members, do hope everyone like's and supports this new figure, committee will announce when their ready.

Thank you all! My apologies for the late reply.

Mr Bock, lovely to hear from you. I agree! These days we see a lot of vignettes, busts or vitrine figures. It’s a pity as I find the regular rank and file military poses are where flats really shine, in the unparalleled dynamicism and realism they offer. There are plenty of excellent busts and large scale sculpts in the world of ‘round’ figures, but lifelike poses on a small scale? Not so much!

Thank you for taking over these moulds, it’s one of my favourite series. Excellent engraving by Mr Lepeltier indeed. I’ll have to order some of the ones I’m missing soon.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks but I’m pressing on with the janissaries.

when you have enough pictures and a good set of data, it is funny to do !!
But this is the most difficult to compile ...
