General Discussion / Re: New Alice
« Last post by Hannibal on March 11, 2026, 04:02:43 PM »My first impression, when looking at the drawing, and the also on the excellent interpretation of Nick, is that the character lying on the mushroom has much too many details (carpet, cushions, clothing, multiple but invisible hands, tea pot, cup of tea, embroidered edge of the caterpillar's coat,...) to be distinguished on such a small flat, but not on a character with a scale of 1:75 OR MORE !! and I am afraid they will never become visible to the naked eye, without looking at the flat at a distance less that two feet, and with an bright lighting.
I need first to conduct a deeper analysis, and several simulations to select appropriate colours and the best orientation of the light sources, before undertaking the preparation, clean-up and undercoating of the flat. So timing after my move in April will be to finish the work around July in parallel to some other projects.
The figure is however remarquable, and the engraving job of Regina is absolutely fantastic !!
A real piece of art !!
