General Discussion / Re: New Alice

My first impression, when looking at the drawing, and the also on the excellent interpretation of Nick, is that the character lying on the mushroom has much too many details (carpet, cushions, clothing, multiple but invisible hands, tea pot, cup of tea, embroidered edge of the caterpillar's coat,...) to be distinguished on such a small flat, but not on a character with a scale of 1:75 OR MORE !! and I am afraid they will never become visible to the naked eye, without looking at the flat at a distance less that two feet, and with an bright lighting.

I need first to conduct a deeper analysis, and several simulations to select appropriate colours and the best orientation of the light sources, before undertaking the preparation, clean-up and undercoating of the flat.  So timing after my move in April will be to finish the work around July in parallel to some other projects.

The figure is however remarquable, and the engraving job of Regina is absolutely fantastic !!

A real piece of art !!

General Discussion / Re: Tin Price

Hello Brian,  I have some 10 K of unpainted flats at home. At a speed of 2 flats per month, and being close to 80, I cznnot paint a lot before going on vacation for ever in the underground ...
I could send you a good part unpacked and comprssed in boxes to melt them as raw material for your passion ... Depreciation is already done ...
Only problem, I am leaving ofr a  few months in two weeks, so it can't be done before the fall, time to sort out.

General Discussion / Tin Price
« Last post by Brian on March 11, 2026, 06:01:04 AM »
As mentioned in another post tin has gone up in price,  when we started to cast KA low was around the £25 a kilo last time I brought it was around £35 a kilo that was 6 months ago, now the same supplier it's up to £78 a kilo, so as you can see the price has doubled and then you add post it is getting expensive ( I have look around but this is still the cheapest)  to make figures so bear this in mind when you next order ???

Just received the new BFFS Alice figure and have to say a big thumbs up, a lovely figure and I am looking forward to getting some paint on it,  was concerned at the price at £20 but seeing the figure and the price of tin I would buy again!!
Highly recommended   ;)
