General Discussion / Battle of Mohács 1526

Friends,
let me show two recently painted figures from the Mohács set of Offizin Gerstenhauer  (previously Kieler Zinnfiguren).
First the figure C14 of a Hungarian baron and the figure of a Hungarian bagpiper C15).
The figures - at least the figure of the bagpiper - should represent the musician BEFORE the battle, since there was no mood and place for making merry thereafter.
The battle ended up with a disastrous Hungarian defeat wherein about 18 000 Hungarian soldiers have been killed by the Ottoman army .
The king, Louis II died and died the majority of the Hungarian aristocrats (barons), the majority of the Hungarian prelates (bishops).

I have to mention that Mr. Gerstenhauer, who at present manages the Kieler Zinnfiguren, is a very nice gentleman, it is a pleasure to contact him.
Have a nice day-
Sandor

Very nice diorama, realistic, and one cannot even see the limit of the réduction: the sky takes all space above and the tress all around!!
Excellent assault of the footmen and horsemen towards the village, and I like the fire starting to grow against the wooden wall ...

Perhaps to complete the scenery, you could add some arrows dispersed and sent from the wall's bowmen towards the assault, to show that not all of them had reached and killed a man, some javelins, spears, stones, axes also that missed their target, any ladder? on the floor or raised half way?  as the green floor looks too clean as is now...

Congratulations !

Dear all,

Please find attached a small diorama about an Hungarian assault in the 10Th. Century at an Franconian village.
Any feedback is highly appreciate.
Best regards

I do intend to include the Bretegnier figure of Prince Repnin being led in by a Grenadier a Cheval. The hunt is now for suitable Corpses or wounded to add a little atmosphere.
