... from Cuirassier Regiment No. 10 Gens d'Armes. A 130mm flat from Fredericus Rex painted with oils.
Information about the regiment can be found here, http://www.kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Prussian_Gens_d%27Armes

This came together quite nicely - I think this is the best of the large scale flats you have shown here. I am suitably impressed. (Great engraving too - he looks most suitably Prussian!)
Mark 8)

Thank you Mark. I have said elsewhere it would have been nice if this had been part of a series of SYW Prussian cavalrymen in this size but sadly it's a one off.

Hi Roger,
Nicely painted figure you are certainly seeing the difference in your figures since you changed to oil paints. For such a big figure it looks super.
Keep up the good work.

Hello John, thank you very much. Yes things have seemed to have improved since the switch to oils, I wish I had taken the plunge sooner instead of clinging to my "round" painting habits.
Those poor acrylics are being left to harden in the tubes. ;D

Thanks Rob, go on, get some primer on it and make a start. ;D

Well done! Great flesh tones on the face and the reds on the belts and sabertache are great.
Two questions: what is the l-shaped line on the jaw and is the hat bow (cockade?) supposed to be gray or black?

Thank you Glen.
The L shaped line is the way the line of the jaw has been engraved, the hat ribbon is black. In real life neither highlights look quite as stark as they do on the photo.

Ah... I thought the line might've been a classic dueling scar.

If anyone else asks that's what I'll say Glen. ;D
