The book, on the initiative of the collector and publisher Jacques Vullings it's dedicated to the history of  Mignot flat figures, for the first time in words and pictures a complete overview of the wide range figure.
Many of the beautifully painted figures are quite suitable as a painting template.

Text in German, English translator booklet , very many color illustrations. 156 pages.

If your at Kulmbach and would like a book still let us know and Jacques can put them aside for you to collect.

I'm a bit over excited about this. I'm going to have to lie down with a damp cloth on my forehead!

Mignot figures were my first love and I've spent my collecting life trying to complete the collection. I'm not there yet by any means but getting there would be no fun at all.

Always interested in anyone's spares - I have a few to swap

Paypal is fine, but here's a thing, do we class the Mignot sets being cast at the Plassenburg as the real mcCoy? or do they have to have come from Paris  ::)

My idea is the Paris one ;)

Just a few I painted earlier

I would also like a copy with translation and I will include my membership fee as well( if that's all settled?)  Paypal would be the most convenient, but I'll do what is necessary!

Paris or Plassenburg. It's all the same to me. It's the same moulds.

Also, certain sets are very rare now unless you go for the Plassenburg editions.

Thanks Brian,

I would hesitate to do any sort of review of the book, as I know that many people are looking forward to seeing their copy. I ordered this book when it was first muted some two years ago and I do not have the original flyer, so only going on my recollections of what the book promised.

To my mind if you will forgive the pun it is a little bit flat, some of the pictures seen before, most of the figures have featured in other publications and it is really a illustrated catalogue of the known figures, unless I am missing the point nothing new or exciting.
Sorry but you did ask and I can only give my opinion no doubt other people Will take their own view
Kindest regards
Bob

Agree with you Bob
I know there have been many very painful problems with the book
I think the editor tried to do  his best but had to act in a hurry at the end
Maybe should he has stopped the project

I also have the book and find it a great reference for the wonderful world of Mignot, it is mainly photos I agree but to have these all in one book is just what I need. A short history is there and well worth the read but it is the photos that are the stars of the book, beautiful figures and I still think a must for the Mignot fancier  ;)

Now the pre- ordered books, some of us got them direct from Jacques but I still have the ten books that where ordered, no worries but can you let me know so I don't send you out another book and chase you for money ;)

So a few spares are up for grabs if interested   :o

I bought also the book directly from Jacques (at his table in Kulmbach) and I received : the book, the translation (in French en English) and also a flatfigure representing Mr. Mignot himself.

And do you think of the book ? Bob posted a mixed review. Interesting to have a second view.

The book is nice. Of course I am a Mignot fan. But I don't really learn something new. It should be nice if the author gave an exhaustive list from all Mignot flatfigures.

Book received today.

In my opinion, it is just great, better than I had feared following a mixed feeling review posted above.
Not just an illustrated catalogue, there is an interesting introduction part too.
It is true that I am a Mignot fan, as you can expect from a Parisian that discovered the flat tin figure 40 years ago, at the Au Plat d'Etain shop, that was at that time rue du Vieux Colombier near place Saint Sulpice. The shop still exists, but it moved rue Guisarde, not very far. They carry only the full round Mignot figures today of course.

As a gift, toghether with the book and booklet, there is also a 54mm figure, Mr Mignot apparently ?

Brian, thank you again

Glad you like the book, and yes that is a figure of Mr Henri Mignot himself  by Jacques of GE

I think the book is great too.

As an avid Mignot devotee, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven.

Ok, so there are things I would have liked to have seen that are not there, but on the whole 5 stars from me

I don't think that it would serve a purpose for me to be in any way critical of such a great book.

Hi Bob,   The Translation Booklet is not quite what I was told, no extra pictures or text just a straight translation for the book, but still a good buy.  £7.50 plus postage.
Also if anyone's interested still got a few Books left to sell.

Brian,
Haven't figured out another way to get this book that is any cheaper or going to a better organization, so if you still have a copy with translation  tell me the Paypal address and amount, I should pay my membership as well so give me the price for that also.
