Or roughly translated - From One Mould.
This is a photographic record of the groups produced by Heinrichsen from 1839 to 1939. Over 230 colour pages of groups small and large, most are factory painted though some are by collectors. There are a few by the esteemed Mr Douchkine in the ancients section.
I got mine from Amazon this week for a touch over £7 and if you like this sort of thing it's a great book. They have a certain toy like charm but some show up very well with a more modern paint job. Some are rather fanciful, but there are others clearly accurate and some of the original drawings are also shown, which indicates what detail there might be underneath that thick layer of factory enamel. Very little text, the intro is in German and there is a time-line at the back showing which pieces were engraved each year.
It's a soft cover, lovely glossy good quality paper and printing.

Hi
I said that on the 31st January 2013 but no one took a interest??

I didn't see your post Bob. Casting pearls before swine !

Judging by the traffic numbers all contributions are read and appreciated...however few seem to be commented on in general. The latter issue is changing as we grow - probably 150+ more participants now than at the end of January.
Regardless, interesting book of a company and its figures that Eric and others have shown can still paint up beautifully.

I have the book also, Charles. Paid rather more for it (from Germany) than your £7 though, well bought.

There are three very good books about Heinrichsen
1- "150 Jahre feinste Zinn composition figuren Ernst Heinrichsen Nurnberg"
This is a story of firma Heinrichsen and their products with many pictures of sets
Very interesting even for non german speakers
2- "Aus einem guss" about the groups
Some are really stuning especially civilians
3- "Auf einem blick", which shows the collection of Inge Klaus Jansen who painted nearly all the Heinrichsen figures
Thousands of pictures, all in color, with a brief note about each set

Good to know, Eric. If I had to choose between #1 and #3 on your list, which do you recommend ?
One other book of note here: a Spielzeigmuseum Nürnberg publication: Paradestücke - Zinnfiguren aus Nürnberg und Fürth. Not exclusively Heinrichsen, but they feature prominently. Text in German of course, but profusely illustrated and good for those of us who like the old figures. Not overly expensive either.

Eric, Steve
Thanks. I will keep my eye open for these.

I do notknow if Aus einem blick is still available; the interest is that it shows nearly all the figures Heinricsen ever issued; also very little text
150 jahr is very well illustrated but ofcourse it should be better to understad german (I dont)
I also hve Paradestuck a very good book

Sorry Eric, but in all three books (I bought all of them) only 50-60% of figures edited by Heinrichsen are depicted. Every month on e-bay I'm finding more and more figure types never seen before, especially on Napoleonic, Franco-Prussian war, 1900 and 1 WW. Heinrichsen is a true Clondike for flat figure collector. Hope to see you at Kulmbach :)

Hi Oleg
I know you'r right
Heinrichsen probably made every possible figures, but we have to admit that many of them arnot of much interest !!
See you in Kulmbach

You are probably right Eric but look how many figures of modern engravers are not interesting at all because of poor drawings and engraving. On the other hand one can make a good collection only from Heinrichsen figures. Nice topic to talk about. I'll be glad to have a cup of cofee (beer is optional :D) with you. Always impressed by your painting style which is full of colours.
