Title: Kulmbach!!!
Post by: Brian on January 06, 2026, 08:41:47 AM
Here we are in to the new year and maybe we will have a post or two from our leaders   ;)

But this year is Kulmbach, the place to be if you collect and paint the flat figure, if there's a special you been after this is where you can find it  :)
Kulmbach is not just the little guys but the meeting of friends old and new,  when the doors shut the bars in Kulmbach are full of flat collectors talking, eating and drinking the night away, the BFFS has evening meals and get togethers arranged that you can go to and being our 40th maybe something special will be sorted.

BFFS has a table in the marque where all the traders and action is, then across the road you have the clubs and competition where you will see some of the worlds best painted figures, our guys often walk away with a medal or two.

Then you got the Plassenburg, a museum for just the flat figure again the BFFS has its own display and well worth a look

If your thinking of going you got to get your hotel sorted sooner then later as they do get booked early, I'm already booked!!

Kulmbach, 3 days of flat figures, talking flats, planning flat's and drinking some great beer from the local brewery, if you have not been try and make this one as with our 40th it should be one to remember ;)

Date       7th - 9th of August
Place      Kulmbach    Germany

Thank you Brian for this early reminder, as it is indeed essential to book a room early enough at a decent distance , to ensure a fantastic visit in this dreamland of the flat !!!

Hoping to to read the resolutions of the Comittee for 2026, on the actions discussed at last AG to reboost the activity:

The monthly statistics shown at bottom of the Forum page show clealry a dramatic decrease of
 - new members (zero since summer last year)
 - opening of new topics
 - shrinking over 2025 of the new posts
 - increase of instant visitors, passing through the site without stopping, like cometes

Hi Michel,
Thank You for this most interesting post. It does look much more positive than I actually feel about members postings and new threads. Overall the „Traffic“ is terribly slow and modest. To me this Forum is much more a most interesting data base but not really a Place to Exchange views on the Hobby etc. For that it is much to quiet around here and indeed boring over times. I do not think this is about to change.
Regards
Wolfgang

Hear what you are saying,  let's try dragging the forum back to life.
Got a new figure or set tell us about it, going to a show or meeting post a few words on how it went, is there a figure your looking for, ask the forum you never know one of us might help.

Got an idea of a new figure or set lets talk about it, who uses acrylic paint tell us how to use the stuff, maybe you want to have a go at oil's there's loads off us to show you how ;)

Don't wait for the "usual suspects" just tap the keyboard and see what happens, it's all down to you!
