As promised, we have been deciding on the figure for the 40th Anniversay.
We wanted a figure that was essentially British but like the George and the Dragon figure had a slight sense of humour that would also be interesting to paint.
We gave the idea to Sascha Lunyakov with a few pictures for ideas and I have to say he has done a fantastic unique drawing. I am hoping Daniel Lepeltier will do our engraving for us.
So I present to you ……………..
Phileas Fogg and Passpartout from Around the World in 80 Days

Well, what can one say but Wow!!
-
Very nice idea, the drawing does looks brilliant.
-
Very nice.
-
Super fantastic !!! and it shall be a real pleasure to paint it !!!
and that we can adapt the face of Phileas to David Niven, so unforguettable in the movie of 1956!!
(perhaps regret not to have the hat & dress of DavidNiven and David Tennant ..)
Hoping to get before mid march 2026 before leaving home ofr a couple of months .

Magnificent project. Just one question: doesn't the elephant naturally walk at an amble?
-
Caught in the moment😊
-
Painting the elephant only is already a challenge by itself !!
-
Great movie, great choice of subject. I like the humor angle. Well done, Nick and all.
-
Nick's photos show elephants ambling. In the drawing, the posture of the elephant's limbs isn't realistic, but that doesn't matter since the drawing appeals. This is called artistic license.
-
A very nice sobject and will be a very very nice figure!!
It will be ready for Kulmbach?
Concerning artistic license...i'm agree :-)
-
I am already preparing my colours plan, and lights and shadows ....
-
Wonderful, creative and looking forward to the casting, thanks to all involved
