Title: French Dragoon 1870
Post by: John Alberts on February 21, 2025, 08:40:53 AM
Begun work years ago but restarted in 2024 and completed in 2025 a LeCimier 54mm demi-ronde Conrad sculpt of a mounted French Dragoon 1870 using acrylics and oils.  Added to my gallery.

The painting is a real beauty !!

The character looks just a bit short on the legs of the horse, but this is more a design and engraving question, nothing to do with the painting and interpretation;:

The paintwork is beautiful!
Concerning the figure I back up Michel's opinion!
Thank you for showing!

This really came out well and looks exceptional given the interesting engraving.  Really a nice rendition.

The painting of this is indeed sublime!  I believe the engraving of this matches a print faithfully hence, the horse anatomy, regardless it painted up beautifully.

I like the paint job, nice work, beautiful rendering of horse and rider. My personal observation is the horse could have been a larger animal. Cheers

Many thanks for the feedback, I thought that most if not all of the Conrad demi-ronde series for LeCimier had issues but revisited this piece over the decades then committed to complete it.  May have a bust from the series and still searching for.
