I have just heard the sad news that one of our longest serving, most faithful members, our dear friend Michael (Cannock) Taylor, has left us. He was a true gentleman, and a very gentle man A talented creator of boxed dioramas, he held regular meetings at his home, where the doors were open to anyone with an interest in modelling. He was a generous host, and his shepherd's pie was legendary. Thank you for your friendship and all your help and advice, Mike.

Sad news indeed. He used to phone me when he received the Journal for a chat and I have good memories of driving him to Kulmbach chatting and singing snatches of Gilbert and Sullivan. He was an enthusiastic singer, singing at Lichfield Cathedral and performing Gilbert and Sullivan operas. He really liked singing the role of the Mikado. He had sung in choirs with the likes of Isobel Baillie and the great Kathleen Ferrier and had performed in Gilbert and Sullivan with stars of the D'Oyly Carte company such as Derek Hammond-Stroud and Valerie Masterson. So long Mike, God bless and God speed.

First met Mike when we shared the "watch" on the BFFS table at Kulmbach, that was many many years ago but always regarded him as a friend since then.
Will be missed but rest in peace my old mate.
