Friends,
here is my latest work:
Herzog von Somerset of Blum's "Schlacht bei Murten" set, the figure MU184:
I am still struggling with the tolerable photo-making - however the technique Jean_Paul presented (thank you Jean_Paul!) helped a lot.
Anyhow this is the photographic level I know at present.
Have a nice week-end-

Congratulation, snagy!!
Very nice painting; I realize how difficult it is to paint details of the hereldy on a 30mm sifure size !!! Could not do better myself.... The lights are painted in the same directon as your miain light source, from the right..
Small detail: please note that the white painting of the eye pupil of the horse is not realistic, too large and visible and never so apparent such as human beings... Look at several pictures of real horse eyes on the net to adjust a bit instead of a cartoon interpretation affecting a very little your realistic 3-D painting of the knight !

Hello Sandor,
Very nice painting. The heraldic details looks very nice.
Wasn't there a Diskussion about the duke of Somerset at Murten some years ago?
For the horse eye: I tought about this for a long time years ago and checked a lot of photos of horses and looked at horses in nature. Normally you only see the dark of the eyes and no white. But often there is a reflection in the eyes. So when I paint horses I add a very little white point to the dark.

Thank you for the observation, gentlemen!
I have corrected the eyes - they look better, indeed!
Cheers!

Good job, I like the heraldry work in particular--as mentioned--that is a big challenge.
