Title: Crucifixion

Hello,
Eastern is near now but quiet different this year. so here something a bit special.
The idea for this came to me when I was searching the internet for contemporary paintings and found some paintings showing the crucifixion in renaissance style.
Some of these figures I have shown here before, but now they are all together.

Hi Christoph, finally I have got what I was so long asked for!
My question was several times: when shall we receive a tableau / an installation of your - partly already  shown - figures arranged on a  common ground.
So it is!
I like the installation very much, moreover the topic is very timely now, in Easter-time.
It should have been a huge work to prepare this crowd of excellently painted figures.

Wonderful idea, Christoph!!!!!!!


Please remember, the Renaissance/Middle age Painter Altdorfer had nearly the same idea as he painted the historical picture "Alexander battle", he arranged the battle between Greeks and Persians with soldiers dressed like middle age knights.

This was an experiment but I think it worked. Maybe I´m doing some more in that style.

@ Christian: a friend of mine is working on the battles of Alexander the great and Hannibal but no in renaissance style. I talked to him about this some times. but I don´t think he change to Landsknechts. But this would be a very interesting thing.
