At the moment I have some figures in a drying phase, like the emperor Justinian and his Wife Theodora.
The two other figures are WIP, a varangian soldier 10th/11th century and a varangian officer, 11th/12 century.

Hello,
nice painting.
Byzantium is an interesting subject but not many figures edited for that, sadly.
Are these figures edited by Mr. Dangelmaier?

Christoph,
yes, you can get them there and a few more. These are really big ones with 70 mm height.
As I mean, there are 14 or 15 different types available. I personally have two more unpainted here.
Mr. Dangelmaier has also 2 Series of Byzantine soldiers in 3o mm, but I have no further informationat the moment. From the "Zinnprinzessin" will be a new set available soon, the "Nika - Uprising".

Very nice, particularly like the Emperor and his wife. Byzantium is a time period not well served by flat editors much less miniatures for that matter.

Nice work Erich!
The style of the Emperor and the Empress reminds me the icons of the time!
Actually I have never been enough brave to paint a 70 mm figure!
I like them!!

Thank you Joerg! ;D

Thank you all for the comments -
@ Sandor - for me personally I had to struggle with these big ones - found it more difficult to paint
as a 3o mm figure -

As I have written below, a new series was announced for the "Nika-Uprising". Meanwhile I have got the figures, and, to show, that 3o mm is still alive, I have added some pics.
They are very fine engraved by Mr. Lepeltier, much finer than my Handy-Pics can show. I have not cleaned them until now, make only a few pics to show them.

Prof. Vollrath edited a set of Byzantinics many times ago. There are Justinian, Theodora, the court, clerics and others. Engraved by Lecke I think. They are within the "Kieler Zinnfiguren" actually. I get my set from ebay... I think thats a good combination between both sets too.
