Title: Airplanes, no link with the flat figures
Post by: Richard on April 27, 2018, 04:44:56 AM
 Hello,
I am very fond of the thin flat figures but not only. I am too an enthusiast of the old airplanes, particularly of the warbirds. This year I have the plan of attending the Duxford show in July.
Does anyone amongst you go to this event ?

I used to go to Duxford air shows but too far away now. You can do flats and aircraft together see Western Miniatures catalogue http://www.intflatfigures.org/BFFS/Vendor%20Catalog/Western/. Heinrichsen also do flat figures of First World War aircraft in their tin airforce series. Photo of mustang at Duxford attached.

I have never been to that Air Show. You need to visit the Virginia  Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. I volunteered there before I moved down to FL :-\ We had two shows there World War I & II  More then half of the planes flew.  P40  P51 B25 J  Yak 9 Spitfire Hurricane  ME 109 FW 190 JU 52 ME 262  Mosquito , Typhoon. . The World War I section we had A Nieuport  17   Fokker DR 1 and  Fokker Dr VII  Albatros D.III.  I would like to see more planes Western has a big section of World War I planes. :o Willie

Western Miniatures also has flats of WWII aircraft.  Check it out here:

Look under "aircraft" at the end of the page.

A Balbo at Duxford. (Balbo - RAF slang for a large formation, named after Italo Balbo, the Italian Air Marshall who loved to lead huge formations of aircraft in the 1930's).
