If you had the chance to have engraved a figure of your own what would you have made, your design, copy part of a painting which way will you go?
I'm haveing a figure made now, you may have seen the idea in another thread but if not here you go the bike and rider ;)

I'd like to see more flats based on the paintings of pinup artists from the 40s, 50s, and 60s (think pre-pantyhose). My favorites are those painted by Gil Elvgren, but I'd like to see Art Frahm, Joyce Ballantyne, et al, in the mix as well. There would likely be some copyright issues if they were mass-produced and sold for profit.

You could post the painting of the figures I would like Brian,
It's Pre- Raphealite and I think it would make a great figure, what do others think?
I was considering getting it made, would anyone else be interested in it if I did?

I second Glen's thought as a very cool one. I know there where several renditions of pin-up art from WWII bombers that were done and there is set of 1/54 figures of pin ups done by Andrea miniatures as well that are available as well.
The figures of Yvan Durand and some of the Mucha figures from Detlef Belaschk also come to mind but, these could be quite different to paint.

There are some great pictures from the rock and roll era by Roy Barrett http://www.art-of-motoring.co.uk/G1.htm. Examples are Leatherboys, Flying Tigers, Leader of the Pack, etc. He also does a painting of T.E.Lawrence racing his Brough against a Bristol Fighter, that would be quite something. Jerry.

That is my favorite - if possible in a eye - friendly size

Jesse James meets the indians? I thought he was a train driver :o
Hold your horses there, Custer, I'm not that ignorant ;D ;D ;D ;D
This Would definately make a nice set, or 1 piece infact. Good choice Eric.

Now Eric
That would be such a great group flat! ( 54mm?) subject i have a passion for, not so much custer but the native American side to it! would make a superb flat, why dosn't someone commision it? ??? that is one flat iwould love to paint ... Gerry.

Mostly I paint in the size 30mm, but in the moment I paint a 40mm Figure from Mr. Koestel
from France and find it good to paint with a lot of Detail and "friendly to my eyes"
The Custer Group: I am not a Custer Fan - but this group attracted me a long time.
The General himself was surely a man with much faces - ambitious - ruthless - and a child
of his time. (The Killing of Crazy Horse could be another good theme for figures).
Maybe I can paint it at any time. But I know, for anyone who wish to realize this in any
way it is at first a lot of money for drawings and engraving - not knowing how much can
be sold.

The two photos would make great figures but as mentioned it's down to cost, we have a few editors and engravers so maybe they can give a ball park idea on the price.
From my experience it's 300 Euros a stone for the engraving, so that's Nick's sorted and Erich's your looking at double that for say a 40mm set, this is without the drawing :o ::)
