Title: A few Napoleonics
Post by: errant49 on January 13, 2017, 09:52:56 AM
Looking at my grey army I found some interesting figures I decided to paint
Napoleonics are not my preferred but these ones I found nice
I especially like the four Frauendorf figures, Napoleon, Roustan, Murat and ADC; I think that Frauendorf design and engraving (he did both) are among the most elegant

Beautiful figures.  I agree Eric at his best frauendorf figures are unique and so have a certain elegance or willowiness to them (if that's a word!)

Thank you all
I am now painting a few others
Will post them when finished
About Douchkine I join some pictures of Napoleonics I recently bought
Thery are probably Douchkine figures at his beginning, just before or just after WWII
Anyway I find them beautiful, a true painter's work

It never ceases to amaze me how everyone has their own unique painting style. For me, it's the expression and progression of that style that produces the enjoyment in this hobbby. The first time I started painting in earnest 15 or so years ago, I eventually quit, partly because I didn't know what to do with the completed figures.  I now realize the pleasure I at least derive is from the process and immediately after the figure and set is finished. It's almost irrelevant what I do with them once I'm done (put them on a shelf and forget about them most of the time.).

Just some random Sunday morning thoughts
