I bought ten (10) oil painted Mongosl and Tatar warriors and decided to repaint them at today's standard.
This one is a Goldberg flat Go 1343:
Original painting => Brutto unpainting => After preparation => Primary painting

A second one is underway ...
The best known Tatar in the USA is Charles Dennis Buchinsky, or Charles Bronson (1921-2003).
He was the 11th of 15 children born to a Tatar Lithuanian immigrant father and a Lithuanian-American mother.

I am adding a conversion of the previous pic into SEPIA colour. It removes the colours to keep their values only, so balance between lights and shadows ! It allows also to detect weaknesses and mistakes in these values, easier to see than in colours.
