Dear All,
I have had an email from the Organisers of Euromilitaire. This year we will only have 2 x 6 ft tables on the East Wing.
For those attending, space to display figures will be limited to members only. If you want to bring figures please limit them to 2/3 pieces each. Also please let me know who is interested in displaying, we may need to change the tables around on the Sunday ( which may be a good thing ) :)
Euromilitaire is on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2016
Leas Cliff Hall
Folkestone.
Kent
England.

All being well, I'll be there. I'll probably bring a couple of boxed dioramas, and you can decide if there's room for one of them.

There is always room for one Ed, they go down very well with the audience :)

Helas !! This year the show and competiton at Blagnac (near Toulouse) was postponed by one week, fitting the same dates as Euromilitaire !! I was planning to go to both, but instead, now AFCFEF is organising Strasbourg the week planned initially forBlagnac, so I cancelled Euromilitaire, because it mixes all painting levels giving more favours to master painters, rather than lower levels, while Blagnac decided to separate flats from the figurines catégories.
So my planning is Strasbourg on 10/11 and Blagnac on the next week !!
Next year perhaps ...

2D Figurines will not be trading at Euro this year.
-
Nick,
Are you referring to a BFF display or in competition?
Are you going to attend?
If so does Euro have provisions for putting others figures in competition or do you have to be there in person?
Ed

This is really a smaller space than before
I guess there will be no room for any demo
Did they gave any explanation ?

Hi Ed,
the display will be limited, but you can enter figures in the competition without attending. I can proxy for you if you wish, as yes I will be attending.
I would need to check out how this is done though. I'm attending a show in 3 weeks where the chief judge will be, so I will ask him.
Eric, the last two years have been special advents for the BFFS, some of the other clubs did complain last year that we were being given special treatment!!
This year we decided to enjoy the show more rather than having to station a large display. maybe next year.
On saying this, both in the previous years, I have found extra tables to make the display bigger. Depending on where and who else is on the wing with us, I may be able to do this again. I'm sure I can bring a small table from homethat we can find a space for if you wish to demonstrate.
-
Nick,
Thank you for the offer. Yes, I would be interested in finding out how it is done also.
Thanks,
Ed

Hi Ed,
There is a proxy form to sign. I will email a copy over to you. It will need to be signed and sent back with the figures you are entering.
-
Still sorting the proxy form Ed :)
Daniel ( Canet ) I've heard a rumour you are also attending, is this correct? Will be good to meet up :)
-
Okay. Standing by.

Shows not far now, so if you want me to collect figures to send for the BFFS display in Kulmbach, don't forget to bring them along :)

The flat figure class judges have been announced
Trevor Morgan a great and well respected painter of flats, lots of experience at judging.
Nick Ball one of the best we have, again a great painter and all round good guy.
Gerry Larkin to make a trio of the best detail painters you'll find in flats, a wealth of judging under his belt.
So there you have them, three of the best and just to keep them in line you have ME!!!!!
Yep I'll be there judging your figures so no golds for me this year hahaha
Again I encourage you to enter the competition, it's not about winning but showing the flat figure at it's best from beginner to expert we are all painters
-
Brain that's a very big job keeping those two in line. Do you get combat pay? lol. Yes I agree with you about shows and painting. I hope you guys have a great time. Willie
-
Getting close now , so don't forget to bring your figures for the Plassenburg BFFS display.
-
Two questions
First shall we have a small table for painting at the Euro ? Or in other words shall I bring some brushes and paints ?
Second what will be the way to send figures to Kulmbach, will it be safe enough ? Shall we have a kind of receipt to attest we loaned figures and which ones ?
Well at last there are five questions in two !

Hi Eric, I presume the show at the weekend was excellent as usual.
We only have 2 small tables this year at Euro, so no painting. All the rooms downstairs will be for the competition, so all the clubs will be on the balcony.
Secondly, for the figures to Kulmbach, they can either go with you if you are going, or given to me at Euro to send so the display is up and running before we get there. I will catalogue what there are ( I will need details from you what the piece is ) and who's they are.
Franz and Andreas will create name tags for each piece etc.
I will be sending them by tracked courier, door to door ( the service I use is very reliable.)
I understand the display can be as big as necessary, so I hope we can get a lot of members interested in doing this.
The figures are 'on loan' and I suggest they be changed every 2 years when the show is on, so there are always new things to be seen.
Mark Taylor ( Mike Son ) has already sent out the balance of his father's figures with a couple of books and a photo of Mike, which will be displayed in a separate cabinet. I also hope that Jim Woodley's family will allow a display of his works to be set up as well.
-
Well that's sounds good !
I will bring you some figures; it will make room in my cabinet !

That's it for another year!! good to see all the members having a good time and even got a few more to have a go at flats, well they brought a figure or two hahaha
Judging went well, little down in numbers but all good work, a few disagreements with the judges but nothing to serious and I hope we got it right!
Lots of fun and laughter and only one or two beers (-;
Well done all and maybe we'll do it all again next year.
-
Nice to see you guys at the show, and thanks for getting me started with Arthur pulling the sword from the stone. I'll post my progress in the appropriate forum as and when it happens :)
-
Thank you for supporting the society figure, and we look forward to seeing it progress.
Show was down in numbers but it was good to see old faces again.
Well done to Daniel Canet on all his medals, and especially the Mike Taylor award for his tribute to Mike Taylor. The photos are good on the forum, but they do not do justice to the actual pieces.
Well done to all the other award and non award winners for competing and supporting the flat classes and showing your outstanding works. Thank you
Nicholas
