For those who went to the MFCA show this year, this will look familiar. I wasn't happy with how it looked so I made some adjustments to it the past week. Here is reworked Napoleon.

Looks great...few of us have the fortitude to go back and re-work a figure...

Nicely done Ed. :)

Nicely done Ed!! 8) Looked good first time round
but your the painter and you know your faults! we all are perfectionists its the only way to improve. :)

A particular style, which gives a lot of expression in the figure

Daniel, Gerry, Nick, Kevin,
Thanks for the kind words guys.
Gerry, you hit the mark with your comment that we are all perfectionists. I can't control myself if I am looking at one of my pieces and I am not entirely satisfied with it. I find myself re-looking at things I have done a year or two earlier and making changes as my painting style and skills evolve. There are some who argue that you should not go back on old figures but just push new ones out. I think there is a happy balance between the two.
Penny Meyer put up a very nice slide show on Facebook of the flats and paintings at the MFCA show. She has a magnifier option that allows you to enlarge the photos. The picture of the lady with the fan by Amalia Rutuerto is amazing because even blown up, the painting is almost perfect.
