Now I know lots of Outlaw Bikers without Tattoos so should I paint them on?
In the good old days Tattoos where worn by Gangsters/Villains and Biker Gang members!!! now everyone has them, even your grandmother and kids will have the things :o

Brian,
Leaving him with non tatoo removes you a challenge in painting. It is up to you to select an appropriate tatoo figure, but I think that with such a large arm, it is a normal challenge for a painter to decorate it.
If some of them have no tatoo, we expect in our mind to see them been tatoo'ed, even with a Mickey Mouse, Asterix or their face only!
Use diluted indigo for this after full drying of the oïl paint ...
(not: I do suggest, but I can't paint free hands myself, and I m busy to impose me also a tatoo on the arm of my next flat, at smaller scale!!!)... Hi! hi! this is for September for me ...

Think I was trying to get out of painting the tattoo, but as you say it is expected so I'll go for it!!!!!!!
This is where it all go's wrong hahaha

You don't have, Brian, just a challenge against yourself !
If I remember:
1) have layer underneath thoroughly dried several days or a week.
2) draw the drawing first on paper and try on paper at scale
3) keep a clean brush and some white spirit and an absorbing pper ready
4) sketch the shape with the paint diluted first, so very light tone,
5) if mistake, remove immediately with brush; if dried, dip point in WS, remove liquid on paper towel and 'erase' paint immediately
6) let dry 2 minutes to let WSdry out before resuming paintingto prevent spreading of your trace.
7) when drawing is good start darkening slowly the motive
8) adjust for shadows and highlignting on the arm..
I will have to do also in two weeks, we can discuss our mutual expérience together (my arm surface is 5x12mm) for a celtic tatoo.

Hi Brian,
A nice Biker you show us here! Gratulations for that beautiful painting, I like this way, and that painting style very much. Well the Tatoo…. you don't have to paint a Tatoo, just because it is expected by other people. Only, if you are expecting it by yourself.
My Idea, if I would have to paint a Tatoo on this Figure would be: Slow Down, take it easy ;-) Greetings, Julia

How this may look strange!! but it is a tat copied from a mate in my old club, still not sure though ???[attachimg=1]

How about a simple red heart, outlined in black, with the initials B.F.F.S (and/or I.F.F.S) on the shoulder? Another (or second) way to go would be a memorial patch/tat with Mike Taylor's initials - perhaps over crossed paint brushes.

I agree, in the services it is common, even my Dad got one when he was a Gunner in the Royal Artillery.
But most was used to identify the "bad boys" in civy street, but now all have them :o ;D

That could work!! as well as the Skull and Hart ideas
Or it may just be a Celtic band ;)
-
Just brandmark him with the hot ironstick and your initials, like a horse ;D Greetings, Julia ;-)

The Tattoo detracts from all the great patches on his jacket. leave his arms bare :)
well that's my 2 pennies worth ;D ;D ;D

There you go then, nice and simple ;)
