well after a bit of a slow start ( show clashed with Salute, a bigger show in London ) things went very well. I would like to thank the BMSS for their warm welcome as usual.
A fair few flats in the comps and congratulations to Chris and Mike Creese on all their awards.Especially Chris's Gold, it was very well deserved.
bit of a problem with Robin Hood. The dodgy judge of the class ( some bloke called Seeley ) only gave it a silver, so tonight it's out with the paint stripper and I will now have to start all over again!!!
if anyone knows this guy, is it me or do his eyes look in totally opposite direction to each other!!?
hahahaha
( come back Brian, all is forgiven!! hahahaha )
All joking aside, well done for volunteering, you made some good calls.
A very very enjoyable day, except driving in London!!! what a nightmare!!!!

Nick fails to mention. His won 2 golds and a silver plus a bottle of Waterloo beer for his brilliant flat bust of Napoleon in the Waterloo cup. There are still people out there that are against flats. The the comment by a fellow judge was what are these flats doing here. My reply was they have as much right to enter the competition as do round figures.
So don't bother with the paint stripper Nick just pay the judge more money next time. Or you might get a judge that's totals against flats. Hahaha

I sent the cheque to you in the post last week!!!!! you could have at least mentioned it hadn't arrived!!!
hahahaha
1/2 way through my trophy beer. It really is very good.

Hope you enjoy it. Hope its not off. Haha. That's where you went wrong as well not giving me some. Haha don't choke on it.

I occasionally run into the anti-flat bias. A few - very few - simply don't like them, while others think they should be in their own category. OTOH, I've run into an anti-round bias on the part of flat painters as well. In all cases it's rare. Even fewer are willing to voice their objections even though body language and damned-with-faint-praise can be a dead giveaway. Oddly enough, the folks who are most enthusiastic about my flats seem to the 30mm round fantasy painters on the Reaper forums. Strange that, but it noticeable enough to have me give a two-hour basic flat painting class during ReaperCon next weekend. Noel Meyer (no relation to Penny M) is teaching an advanced flat painting class. I am soooo taking that one.
FWIW, I don't buy off on the MG vs Triumph vs Austin-Healey crap either.
And congrats to Chris and Nick for their medals. Coulda shared the beer y'know...
Salud,
Glen
