Title: Hanami
Post by: Isabelle on February 04, 2015, 12:37:09 PM
Hello friends,
After a long period with a lot of work, I have more time to begin again the painting activities :)
Next week I'll paint the flat project  (thirty years war). I hope it's not too late to paint this figure ?
I post the Hanami diorama (Shogun Zinnfiguren) in a few minutes.

Amitiés

I know the lights and shadows are not marked enough but as hanami it's the spring I've thought it's would be better to have clears clothes. But I think now, it's a mistake. :)

I love the colour choices and the spread of intensities you give to the clothes !!!  It would be very nice to give us two or three figures enlarged fr the détails, but they are very very nicely realized wihin this atmospheer.

Bravo!!

The blending on the Kimonos, especially the samurai with the child on his shoulders is exquisite and so smooth. Lovely painting and nicely displayed.

Hallo Isabelle,

I like this Diorama where everything go together, backround, trees and figures.
It´s the best way to present flats.

Best regards

Michael

@Isabell,
I would share your view concerning light and shadow for the trees.
The people are quite elaborated.

All in all it is a pleasure to see your recent work.

Thanks Isabelle !!
Men paint samurai, but ladies more these.  My wife is also painting flats, rather more feminine, I wish to show her your work, I have several "Shogun" flats but bowmen and samurai...

Hello Joerg,

The trees : trunk : normally  the painting base is Naples Yellow (Winsor and Newton) but for this diorama I have used   : Base : Blanc de Titane + Gris Chaud Hollandais (Old Holland). After : darken with Burnt Umber (WN). After : shadow with Raw Umber (WN) and after shadow with Ivory Black but very little with an old pincel you can used as a brush.

The flowers : base : white Titane + Rose Rouge Outremer (Old Holland) or I'm not sure ; Pourpre Helios (Sennelier) + White.  After : Shadow :  Rose Rouge Outremer (OH). For the outlines, shadow with Caput Mortum.
The light with Blanc de Titane Zinc (OH) because Blanc de Titane Zinc give light.
