My friend Rainer Tschöpe showed me last time in Kulmbach some drawings he had made for Neff. There were 5-6 drawings from the Robin Hood story. So hopefully they are ready for the fair in August.

Grateful if you could put me down for one of the BFFS figures.
Cheers

Sign me up for two of these figures. Thanks. PM me with details or when ready.
-
Well the numbers keep going up, know it's a good figure but was not expecting this amount of sell's straight from the mould ;D ;D
Will try and get it all sorted when the first castings arrive ;)
-
Those ordering 2 or more, may have to wait for the second batch to get their extra figure.
it all depends on how many arrive.
I and the Committee would like to Thank You for your patience and especially for your support for this figure.
-
Had asked for two but will happily take one now, one later.
-
Thanks guys, sure we can sort things out, just means the committee don't get a figure ;D ;)
-
May I suggest that we first serve the committee 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) and then open an auction for the rest !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thank You Kevin, for your understanding ;)
I'm all right Jack, I 'shotgunned' my copy when I ordered them!! :o ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
It's a bad idea, and will boost the prices proposed at first .. It looks like a politician attitude .... not an hobby one !
-
Don't worry Michel, we are just joking with each other as ejit Friends do.
Once the figures get here, and we know for sure the numbers sent we will start issuing them.
The fairest way is probably in the order that members said they wanted them, we will obviously be reordering as soon as Vladimir says he can cast the next batch ( not too long )
Everyone who wanted one / two will get them.

Hi Brian
I am interested in having a casting
Though certainly not in a hurry for it
Not as if I got a clear bench with nothing to paint..... :)
Happy to wait till after the feeding frenzy..... ;)

No problem ! Make it also a kind of painting competition throughout the year 2015 ...? for the Euromilitaire 2015, for exemple, and/or Sèvres.. and in the USA. It could become the subject of an article in "Figurines".
-
Excellent Idea Michel, I agree.
I am doing a 'how to' painting guide in the next 3/4 Journals with photo's as I go, this Figure is 'our model'
It would be good to get it into all the shows. It will definately be in Kulmbach.

My wife (painting canevas oïl, but also flats) and myself (flats and some figures, will come to Kulmach this year, together with someone painting flats from another club, ad the président of our club, AMC.... It is my challenge as retired person to paint mostly flats as long as health and eyes will permit it.
I am finishing the ECW dragoons this week . I will post several others after Ransart, more after Montrouge.
-
My painted version will certainly be shown at the MFCA, Chicago and Long Island New York Shows this year.
-
The figure is now ready to post ;)
-
Thank You Brian, much appreciated.

Mine arrived yesterday - thank you Brian.
Beautiful cast and yes he stands up with no trouble which was my wife's first question...she was suitably impressed with the figure by the way, an uncommon occurrence.
Looking forward to slapping some paint on it as it does just look fun to paint!

Robin Hood Shooting into Nottingham Castle
The mould was made from natural slate for the British Flat Figure Society. The engraving is based on the artwork "Robin Hood Shooting into Nottingham Castle" by the English illustrator and caricaturist John Millar Watts, who's famous primarily for his historical comics that were published in various magazines in the 1950's.

John Millar Watts. "Robin Hood Shooting into Nottingham Castle"
Out of Millar Watts' many illustrations of Robin Hood this one was selected for the interesting silhouette formed by the character's outline. The position of the figures in the final engraving has been slightly altered to maintain overall balance in the composition. It was decided that the figure should be about 50 mm high. Mike Taylor, who participated in the debates over the selection and plotting of the engraving, states in his letter that:
"I also hope that you are now back on the Robin Hood figure and that it is going well.
Do keep in touch.
Your friend.Mike."
The most сomplicated part of the whole process turned out to be the casting of the mould, that took about a week to do.
