Title: Conquistador soldiers 1520
Post by: Hannibal on December 17, 2014, 05:55:28 PM
Here are five soldiers acquired on internet, on painting. They are nicely engraved by Ludwig Frank et edited by Maier.
The first two are "Rodeleros" (shield bearers), for the name of their 50-60cm shield called "Rodelos", but also called "Espadachines" (swordsmen) , colloquially known as "Sword and Bluckeer men".

The third one is a crossbow man:

The last two are arquebusiers, only one is painted now, bearing an arquebuse and a fork rest (fourquier).

The fifth one will be painted in the coming weeks...

Very colorful!  Particularly nice job on the armor.

Thanks for sharing.

That's it! A BFFS painting project of - wait for it - Conquistadors and Aztecs!

And I had to laugh at the unpainted piece at the bottom. It looks like he's bottomless and wearing ruffled hose. Cheeky...  :o
