Purchased this grouping recently. Each is marked SW on the base. The color card that came with them reads: Malvorlage Serie Reibterpersonlichkeiten.
I am hoping to identify each subject.
Is the first figure Belisarius? Next to him is Arminius or Vercingetorix? Followed by a Celtic chief and Maximillian? And last row (I have no idea).
I'd like to paint the roman first... seems to kind of fit the look of some of the renderings of Belisarius...
All help appreciated.

Hi Robert
Are these figures 30mm or higher and are there any marks on the bases ?

Could the last two be Suleiman the Magnificant and Wallenstein?
-
After a small research :
These figures have been copied from 30mm Ochel-Kiel figures
From left to right and up to down :
Roman general Scipio
Barbarian chief Totila
Emperor Otto 1st of Germany
Emperor Maximilian
Vizir Ibrahim Pacha
Wallenstein

Hello - all and thank you all for the replies.
Yes, the last photo is the listing I purchased via ebay.de. I think they are 50mm (or close).
Thank you, Eric for the ID's of each subject.

Hallo friends of flats,
The figures were edited by Jürgen Schmittdiel, who sold the moulds.
Today B&S-Zinnfiguren Leipzig make castings.
Look at www.zinnfigurenfreunde-leipzig.de/pic/hpics/bs_pics/gdf.pdf, where the figures are shown.
They are 54 mm.
Best regards

Thank you very much, Michael.

I looked at the B&S site and noticed that the names given to the figures are different
In my opinion the Ochel names are more accurate

Then I can´t see any need or reason to make rather inferior, for not saying poor, copies of already excisting beautiful original figures. Which also have the advantage of being of the classical 30mm size as well!

Hallo friends of flats,
here some additional informations:
The moulds for this figures were engraved in brass, so B&S can make clear and sharp castings.
1993/1994 a part of the Ochel figures were restored by Schmittdiel.
1997 Ochel were closed and 2009 Erika Ochel started again, so Ochel figures were not
available between 1997 and 2009. At this time it was popular to reengrave not available
figures in 54 mm. J.Vullinghs edited some Mignot figures in 54 mm, too.
When you´re getting older you might have some trouble with your eyes and then it´s easier
to paint 54 mm figures.
I think Attila and Otto d. Gr. are more fantasy-figures of the 30´s based on paintings of the
19´th thentury So the Name is not so important.
The others are more authentic. For example you can see the armor of Maximilian in Vienna.
So the Maximilian figures look like the others (look at Scholtz, etc.)
I hope you understand my english. I learned it 30 Years ago.
Best regards
Michael

As Michael has alluded, for me larger pieces are easier to paint because of problems with my eyesight. I bought these because I like them, and I thought they would be a good painting exercise as I am just now getting back to the hobby in a serious way. They also hold a certain charm/whimsy that I enjoy.
I acknowledge that a couple suffer from proportional issues (Atilla's oversized head and tiny feet, as examples from one of the figures), but the Roman and Kara Mustafa are well done; Maximilian is also well done but poorly cast and so unpaintable.
These will allow me to practice the various disciplines (flesh, metals, horses) while at the same time providing a bit leeway in regards to historical accuracy and research that will keep the pieces in the sphere of realism while still allowing for the artistic freedom that flats encourage over their full-round counterparts.
