And an interesting painting too
But no idea of where it comes from

Wolfgang Friedrich is the engraver and I do believe he´s also the producer. Could be that he still owns the moulds. There is another similar action set with the Brittish 95th rifle regiment.

Herr Friedrich's figures are very distinctive, in very animated poses, and he is certainly one of the finest engravers operating today. Some of his earlier sets, such as these French Infantry, the riflemen, and some charging Polish Guard lancers are perhaps a little extreme, even caricature-like, but his more recent ones are anatomically perfect. His charging celts, on foot and with chariots, are a joy to paint, as are his Crecy and Tannenberg sets.

Hi Ed, Saw the some of the Crecy castings, they look beautiful
-
They certainly are. I put some in my Crecy diorama (some of the only pictures in my gallery - must get around to adding a few more) and as soon as I sealed the box, he brought out more....and more..... The heraldry is very well engraved, and fleurs-de-lys in 30mm are not easy to achieve.

Well I was able to locate an on line address for Mr Friedrich ( wofrie@hotmail.de) and obtain an electronic copy of the Crecy catalog, It is a very impressive group of figures! Working out the details of payment and I'll have a few coming.
Here is some sample pages...

These would be nice for the traveling painting project. I can sorta paint horses now... ::)

Hallo friends of flats,
I agree with Glen. The theme Crecy with it´s colorful figures might be a good theme for a painting project.
You only need a 00000-brush, a good pattern, detailed engravings, a lot of patience and it´s possible
to paint heraldic figures in 30 mm.
Best regards
Michael
