Title: Saint Michael slaying the dragoon
Post by: errant49 on May 21, 2014, 04:17:21 AM
Hi all
Here is a figure engraved by Vladimir Nuzdin from a water color by Ricciardo Meacci, a pre-raphaeliste painter of the XIXth century
It is a 50mm scale, total height 90mm, marvelously engraved
I show the original painting, the bare metal figure, and three interpretations of my own
I first painted the red one, then the blue one, at last the brown one which is the nearest from the original
That was a kind of challenge to paint these in less than 10 days (I got them in Lunéville from Brian), but the quality is such that I felt it really easy and a great pleasure
I will start a step by step in a faew days in the Workbench
Eric

Excellent work Eric.

Just to show you all how good the casting is, I have a photo of the bare metal one which looks bland,  but once primed....... :o

And in ten days three are finished, and great they look to ;)

We have none left as it's been a popular figure, but will be getting more shortly if you would like to have a go ;D

Just an advice
The figure is expensive but it is really worth the price
It was long since I had such a pleasure to paint

Really interesting exercise and light speed compared to my painting speed.

I just rub mine with a diaper. :)

Now there's a mental image... :o

OTOH, it gives me an idea for another pin-up sculpt.

Glen,  In my rather up-tight world, the word "diaper" and "pin-up" do not belong in the same sentence!  ;D

Brian - great figure - will you be getting more?
