Those of you who visit this site are probably familiar with the name, Penny Meyer. She has been a part of the "zinnfiguren" world for years. She has attended a host of International shows, and conducted a number of seminars on painting flats using the "Grisaille" method. This weekend, Penny was inducted into the elite group of talented artists as "Grand Master." This is a peer judged category, and bestowed on people, not only for their talent, but for their participation in helping spread the art of miniatures, flats, and painting. I can attest to that. She is the one who introduced me to flats and to painting flat figures.
I know you will want to join me in congratulating her for the honor bestowed on her. She is one of our treasures.
She received the lifetime achievement award from SCAHMS a few years ago, as well.

Thanks for mentioning this - I completely blanked on the news. :(
Penny is a fantastic person, a very accomplished artist, and very well deserving of being made a Grand Master. I couldn't be happier for her.
