Was it 2009 that most of Germany was flooded for Kulmbach weekend? left home with floods to get to Germany to see floods  :o
Lets keep our fingers crossed  and hope that all that are affected are safe.

Thanks very much Wolfgang. I have had an offer from someone to do some shopping for me so it will be useful to know which traders will be there.

Hopefully the flooding situation will be better soon.

I was going to ask a similar favor of someone.  Would a Kulmbach participant be willing to look for several things for me?  I have about 4 specific wants and could PayPal funds as needed for the purchase and postage, i.e. I will not be taking advantage of anyones kindness my list is 3 or 4 items long.

Please send me a message if anyone is willing to assist and I am in the US so mailing duty is involved as well.

No, it was 2002.
But now it is worse, at least in my hometown - railway connections broken and all that stuff.
Thank God the water did not reach my house by now. Now it is decreasing, but the problem is, that this diminishing will last three, four, five days....

But anyway - I was cycling in another part of Germany last till Sunday 8)

Regards
Joerg

P.S. Due to that flood our next small show-block (Sunday) is cancelled. The organisers think, that a lot of people have other sorrows (and I think they are right).

Ive always just taken hand luggage and put my flats in what ever bag or case i take,  saves flaffing about on the baggage  arrivals area at Frankfurt and Heathrow, but also remember to take some empty boxes for all the flats you buy, but i guess travel light, could you make up a special box for transporting your flower Fairies?  that will fit in your case/bag ?  i reckon that's your best bet Nick.

I'm very much looking forward to what will be my first visit to Kulmbach. Long on my list of to-do subjects, this year becomes reality!
As a newbie to this show, and considering I plan to stock up very well with flats galore, do the sellers give the figures in some sort of packaging, or should I plan to box up my spoils with boxes brought from home? I don't want to overpack, but then on the other hand, I don't want to underpack as well!
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hope to meet many of the BFFS members at Kulmbach, in a month's time!

Ed is managing  the BFFS table, so maybe the ideas should be finalised for meeting at the table in the next week or so as Ed will be on his way to Kulmbach, the long way round.

We had meeting times in the past but I never go to them as to busy buying figs, badges we did that before to, mine stayed in my pocket, not one for id labels but yep sort it out and see what our secretary comes up with ;)
It's not long till we go now!!

Meeting up during the show might be difficult as not only the first at the show for me, but also trading.  So please stop by and say hello.  But always up for a beer and a chat after the show.

And for those with handfuls of loose figure I will have some bags if you need them.

Looking forward to the show and meeting everyone, though not looking forward to the drive.

I am here oh ye of little faith!! And those casting aspersions on my ability may find something added to their name badges besides their names, so take care gentlemen.

I have the badge holders and will be making up the names over the next two weeks, nothing exotic. As soon as I get a good colour I will let you all know what the background colour will be and then as Eric suggests BFFS-IFFS with your name underneath.

So if you are going and want a badge make sure that you put some thing on this post, please.

If someone is interested by the new book about the Mignot flatfigures (I am sure that a lot of us are interested by Mignot), it will be possible to buy it during the fair.
Two editors are selling the book : Krannich and Scholtz, price (on their website : 39,50 EUR)
By the way I send also in attachment the liste from the sellers.

Hello, I need some help regarding Kulmbach. I would like to attend the zinnfigurenborse (my first time ever), taking advantage that I will be in Germany around those dates. However I have checked for hotels and everything in Kulmbach itself seems to be fully booked. What is then, in your opinion, the best option for accomodation near Kulmbach, taking into account both quality and accessibility? The biggest cities that I see  nearby are Bayreuth and Nuremberg. I plan to move from Basel, where I will arrive on the 7th, either by train or by car (I would personally favoured the train, but my wife may think otherwise). I have not yet finished arrangements and If you could help me with specific advice I would be deeply indebted.  Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much for the hints, I have now made a reservation with booking.com (which, by the way, is great, my first choice always) at Munchberg and will conduct a more detailed perusal of all the possibilities over the weeekend. At what hour does the fair end on the 11th and what are the best dates and hours for the visit(s)? I am a passionate collector of flats since 2000 and I will mean business once in Kulmbach (which so far has always elluded me for one reason or the other - but not any more, God permitting).

Another questions. Will there be a possibility of acquire Knoll, ex-Gottstein, ex-Menz, and ex-Retter flats in the fair?

    Thanks very much.

Mr. Knoll does not occur in the Öfendlichkeit, he has until now never had a sale table in Kulmbach.

Ex - Savior and Golberg on stand by W. Dangelmeier
Ex - Gottstein (?) Still open inquiry on the state of the collector Friends Leipzig e.V.

    Hi

I have just secured holiday for the next ten days. Never had August holiday before.

I have been wanting to go to Kulmbach for two decades, so am going to try and make a run at it.

Can I just turn up at the fair and pay to go in?  Times?
Is there a regular train station in Kulmbach? I am planning to 'commute' in.

Don't have to pay to get in it's free, Train station at Kulmbach not far from the town square
have you a hotel booked?  if not, you will find it near on impossible to get anywhere!!.   Trains go from  Frankfurt  Airport ( I.C.E) have you booked?  tickets need to be booked in advance, or maybe you could buy them at the Airport? long journey but a nice one. Having done it myself! but i did book in advance to avoid  problems, booked my tickets from Euro Rail travel agents in Canterbury, called Canterbury Travel, but I'm sure you can secure tickets at Frankfurt, but they wont be cheap!!. :o Better to book in the U.K, where there give you a seating plan etc.  Your have one change  a long the way, then its pretty much on to Kulmbach from there!   :)  what Airport are you flying from  and to? as this info might not be what your after!. Trains are good in Germany and run on time, most likely if your just going for the day your not need accommodation, opening times: Fri  9.00 to 16.00  Saturday same,  Sunday closes mid day, if I'm wrong on times someone will  put me right! hope that's of some help! come and say Hello when you get there!

You will not have time to drink as you will be networking as you call it i call wandering around trying to look intelligent ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Don't forget you have to bring your lovely wife home a present for letting you go. That dose not mean a flat figure  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Now to put a damper on it this time next week it will be all over and we will be a lot poorer and have a lot of tin to bring back home
and the after thought why did i buy that strange figure because we all buy that figure that you regret after.
Then again its a weekend away with some great people so bring it on. See you all there.
