Alf, you should've hung out in the women's lingerie department with a notepad. Lots of good research material there.  ::)

I did my best but most ladies underwear information at that time (50.s) came from The Tube escalators  . ::)

Hamleys was a real Mecca for model/toy  soldiers .They stocked all the makes  never seen elsewhere like the original 20 mm  "proper" Greenwood and Ball painteds  and Britains etc.i used to adure when I was kid .ga,mages model railway layout at christmas and then hamleys soldier dept .Big problem was I couldnt afford anything but a few Britains.I also had to endure my mothers endless search for new hat which entailed a trawl of Oxford Street  department stores for hours .

Just noticed this message.,
You may be interested that Hamleys sold boxed sets of kilia figures in I think the 1970's.
I know that I bought 4 sets and all sets were priced at 2/11d each.
I don't have access to them at the moment stored deep in some cupboard but they were the traditional grey cardboard box with the kilia mark on the front.

They were I believe only on sale for a short time as I never could find them again
Hope this helps

Dear Franco,

I think it´s like this ... the boxes has a brittish retailer´s label - MF Ltd. - on top of the original Kilia boxes. You do often see different retailers labels on Kilia boxes.
The asked price has nothing to do with either rarety or quality, it´s just what the seller hope someone is willing to pay.

Dear Jan,
you are right there are dozen of these boxes offered in e-bay BUT, the starting price is five time the cost of a KILIA red box in perfect condition.
That's WHY I suppose this "editin" should be rarest or maybe there are other reason to support such high cost.

Dear Franco,
Rare or not rare, there are about a dozen of these boxes for sale at the French e-Bay.

I know that Kilia supplied figures to Greys cigarettes to be given away in packets of Greys cigarettes. The figures were Scots Greys.

Hello friend,
I found in e-bay an offer about the attached box from MF ltd.
Back to the main trade-mark seems to me to recognize an "old" KILIA box (marked with a "foreign" mark).

Now someone of you know if KILIA produced a specific product set to be sold outside Germany ? I never heard about this.

Such "foreign" boxes seems to be quite rare because even if I collect KILIA from long time I never meet such type of box before. Is this correct?

MANY thanks for helping me in Learning about this topic.

Cheers,

Franco
