I like your painting very much. By the way, is it 20mm or 30mm? Cheers.

Thanks Roger and Nick!

This way of painting took less time than my old figures, and looks more traditional too I think. Used a combination of Vallejo and artist acrylics (the latter blend much better than modelling paints).

So that's one figure down in the new 1870 project. Time to buy identical casts from W. Fechner and Carl-Cortum all over again...  :-[

Hi Bani,
I like it, the light direction is good, and it works ;)

As Roger says, keep going I don't think you will be disappointed with the results.

5am!!!

I think most here will agree any painting is a progression and we are never satisfied with our work. I like the style you painted your first figures, it was very distinctive and "modern" for the want of a better expression.
What you have done here is also very good. Enjoy your journey.

It's 5am here so this will be pretty brief. Not happy with the way I paint flats, so I'm starting all over again... Might have a go at oils, but today I painted this test figure with acrylics. Later it'll be mounted on a small wooden base so fingerprints don't find their way onto the model.
First time trying my hand at lighting direction, is it an improvement on my previous work?  :-\

Sorry for the poor quality pictures!
