I too think as willie, all I was asking was why the 30mm seems to be out in the cold of late, the 30mm can be filled with detail and life but at shows it's the larger sizes that sit on the comp table, and selling 30mm is far from easy

Very fine work .i love 30 mm flats and consider them what flats are all about or indeed 30 mm rond boss ,Individual jewels but also suitable for dioramas ..I am still getting back into it but do find I am having to relearn techniques after about 30 odd years.Still, my eyeballs are just about holding up .I do find that finding time and and an area just for painting is difficult as I still do a lot of figure sculpting for companies but never get round to painting them much .Getting back into the swing of it .

Why don't I paint 30mm pieces? I think it's due to subject matter, size, and detail. I like medieval subjects and pin-up babes. I know there are medieval subjects out there, but the vast majority of what I see lack the detail I want. The two ACW pieces I painted for the BFFS display had some vague areas. I haven't seen any 30mm pin-up style pieces. Nude women, yes, but naked temple priestesses and bacchanalia types (not that there's anything wrong with that

) aren't what I'm looking for.

I do like the larger sizes because they generally do have better detail, but they are still not immune from vague/missing detail, ill-proportioning, etc. That's why I always want to see the metal. Kudos to Andreas Trost for his recent run of larger scale and well illustrated flats. One other thing - most of you know I have difficulty not changing or converting things. Factor in my interests, and the larger scales - and my own sculpting - lend themselves to that more than 30mm.

That said, I still think my idea of a 12-piece set of 30mm pin-up calender girls was a good idea...

There is an easy to unsterstand FAQ under FAQs called Posting Photos from Your Computer that shows how to upload files and another called Posting Files from an Image Site like Photo Bucket.

Both walk you through the process with pictures. FAQs are at the top of your screen at the right of the Menu bar.

Very nice Jan. Who is the Editor/engraver?
You must post a guide to painting a horse. I think you get a lot of life using very few colours.

To post additional attachments once you have attached one you must click on more attachments. I have just posted three pics on the same post.

I made a try to see if it worked the easy way just by attach a photo ... and it did. But I managed only to add one photo at the time. When I added a second photo the first one was excluded. How go around this problem?

You don't need to bother with photo bucket or any photo sharing site. When you post, just click on the cross by 'Attachments and other options' and that allows you to choose an image from your own hard drive, which gets uploaded onto the BFFS site.

Brian. The last photo of yours, the field forge, is a great example of the 30mm figure. Try that in 54mm and it will be about a foot long and cost a small fortune. I suspect it would be all but impossible in larger sizes. Also consider the many groups, figures fighting, dancing etc you can get, and the diorama possibilities. But then, you know I like them anyway...
