Hello Michel

Not only you collect and improve the pictures, you paint too and you are a good painter.
Congratulations.

Thank you Mark,
I would actually enjoy attempting to paint flats but I would need group therapy! like the clubs in Germany. I wonder if there is any interest in some kind of localized get together of flat painters and wanna be flat painters on a semi regular basis maybe once or twice a year? There has got to be a handful of flat collectors/painters in Texas? Meet one saturday? share some collections and lessons on painting, a couple of adult beverages and dinner ( probably barbeque down here in the lone star state!). I saw that Steve Lloyd of "the Flat tin figures" site has moved to Texas, got to be a few more?
Do you have a community of "flatties" in Oregon?

Very Nice Michel! I actually saw this picture on Pinterest I believe after I sent the commission in and was ready to use it as reference should it be needed
I painted Raoul de Lorraine in 90 mm size 18 months ago .... same heraldy!! (He died during the battle at 26)

These are wonderful Ray, congratulations!

And to those talking about the joy of painting, to each his own.  With results like these - which are outstanding - what a nice set to add to the collection.  (Not really that different from purchasing an already painted set from a noted painter really.)

Personally, I have enough figures in my backlog for the next 90 or so years - this may be a future option for me and part of my figures as well.

Some of us are painters, some of us are painters - some slow like me, some of us are collectors - and some are a little of both.  (There has also been quite a few figures of a collector in Europe that had all of his figures unpainted - enjoying the beauty of engraved figures.)

My unasked for two cents on just enjoying Ray's beautiful figures of which he has shown many.

P.S. Michel your figure is stunning as well.

They are really lovely !!

But nothing gives me more pleasure to try to paint them by myself ...  slowly progressing in quality over the past years.
I have the flats at home on my (very long) waiting list, but History is so wide that there is alays another new discovery that pushes the list down ....

I need days of 36 hours instead of 17-18 ....

Just got these figures back from Fernando Enterprises and I couldn't be happier! beautifully done. I have to thank th members of the forum for there help and guidance that got me to the resources for the figures and accurate colors for painting.
Our Hobby may not be embraced by the masses(yet) but it is alive and well! The quality of design and castings is high, as well as the passion for this art form. Most people I introduce these miniature works of art to are jaw dropping impressed as am I with each new figure.
Thank you all for your help and comradery!
Ray
