Nice work.
-
It's in Military Modelling so full steam ahead :o ;)
-
One week and still got a mounting of things to do and figures to arrive, I'm only panicking a little!!! :o
-
it'll be fine!!! :-\
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Well it's nearly here :o St Micheal slaying the Dragon is NOT finished :'( :'( but will be on the table as 'IN PROGRESS'
However, I'm really looking forward to this and the car is clean, bags packed, and figures will be packed up tonight along with the paints (who suggested I do a Demo :-\ ) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D no doubt I will forget something!!!! ;D ;D ;D
I hope to see many of you there, do come along to the tables and say Hello ;)

I nearly know what I will bring with me
Just wondering how much space will be available for my workbench
Wait and see
Hope there will not be too much park problems; looking at the city tourism site the parks rules seems rather complicated if you want to leave your car more than a few hours
Will ask for help if any problem
Anyway great days to come

Show was really good. Both days were really busy as Brian says the organisers were impressed by us.The display from the BFFS was excellent we had so many contributions space was at a premium.A full report with pics will be going into the Journal with hopefully an article in Military modelling.
I am sure Brian will post some pics very soon.
Personally I met so many interesting people it was a great couple of days. The goodies part will be the pics.

As Dave says a fuller report will be in the Journal, but in the meantime here's a mini report ;)
I arrived Friday afternoon to find the balcony empty and awaiting work :o, to my surprise I found my crew in the Public House over the road!! :o :o ;D ;D ;D ;D
having topped up on an Orange Juice ::) yea right!!! you didn't fall for that one again did you? ;D ;D ;D ;D we wandered over to set up. we had 6 tables and 1 for demonstrations. Of these we decided that 2D really needed 2, so this cut us down to 4, still plenty of room for an excellent display.
At this point I would like to Thank all those members that answered the call to arms and brought along a mountain of great art to put on the table. As Dave rightly points out, we were overwelmed and another table had to be drafted in.
I would also like to Thank the societies and clubs from abroad, who also attended and put their figures on the table, the variety of different painting styles showed everyone that there is no one way of painting and this is why, especially with the general public and other based modellers showed such an interest in the art of the flat figure.
Another main reason for our continued rise in the modelling world here in the UK, is undoutedly the fact that figures are now available through 2D. Brian, Christine, their Daughter Mandy and her Boyfriend Jonathan were run off their feet all day Saturday, and I know my feet hurt, but their's must have been ready to drop off!!!! I cannot thank them enough for all they do for the Society as a whole. WELL DONE and THANK YOU.
Up until now, the BFFS ( due to 5 member's, I must add!! ) ;D ;D have basically been seen as going to shows, having a good time and always seen in the Bar!!!, :o however, after this weekend, I think we are now seen in a completely different light! yes we do enjoy a drink, and yes we do enjoy a good laugh, but more important than this, We are very serious about our Hobby and the painting of Flat figures. And it is certainly beginning to rub off on people. ;)
Infact, the shows Organiser's were so impressed, we have been asked back next year, with double the space. :o Get painting people!!! ;D ;D ;D
I would also like to Thank Ed and Chris for all the tireless effort they put in to helping setting up,and making it a great weekend, and a Special Thank you to Trevor Morgan and Eric for the painting demonstrations they did.
Congratulations everyone, and again Thank You.

Due to my age and hopelessness with a computer :o, I cut off the last report, and therefore couldn't get it back, so :-
I also have to Thank Gerry Larkin and Rod Johnson of Shogun, for all their help in setting up.
If anyone can add this in to my piece, please do so ;D ;D ;D

Congratulations to all concerned - lots of recognition here!
Now if we just had stunning pictures to go with all of the awards... Are there any others to add to the Gallery for this purpose?

P.S. A belated acknowledgement to Brian for all he did for Euro as well. It sounds like a nice win for BFFS and Brian and company should be commended.

Is that your Napoleon with a Gold Award listed next to it?
With all of these shows/awards you must be looking like an Admiral in the navy at this point...
