They are indeed a great find.  I love the Landwehr with the varied foot gear or lack thereof shown.

Thanks for sharing.

Just a slight correction:

The three plates shown by Böckchen have nothing to do with military police.
The show the Field Jagers (Foot and Mounted)

Joerg

Ah yes, Google Translate.  ;D It's good but has not quite got to grips with some military terms.

Dear Ray,

these plates are in fact some done after the 72 which Georg Schäfer did copying the Johann Adam Klein paintings (now available as prints, too). You can find them here at the vast and best online source of Mrs. Brown´s collection now partially online :

http://library.brown.edu/cds/catalog/catalog.php?verb=search&task=setup&colid=13&type=basic

Klein, Johann Adam (artist)
One of a collection of 72 ink and pencil drawings, partially hand colored, of uniform figures by Georg Schäfer after Johann Adam Klein, these being slightly enlarged copies of the originals in the Nürnberg Kupferstichkabinet des Germanischen Zentralmuseums and the art museum of Hamburg; uniforms of Bavaria, Frankfurt, Hannover, Mainz, Austria, Prussia, Saxony, Würzburg, Russia and France are shown; accompanied by a typewritten index of 8 pages. Soldier on horseback, facing right, town in background.

German napoleonic print(s) set?
« Reply #1 on: January 24, 2014, 12:16:20 PM »
On Ebay I picked up these three prints, very nice and seemed to be hand colored? they have german text on the back. They seem to be part of a larger set and I'm hoping some of our German members can help with the identification?
Step up Germans! the French have proved very knowledgeable in the past idenifying this sort of item in the french language.
