Title: Circe
Post by: brushmistress on October 08, 2015, 12:40:17 PM
Hi everyone. My name is Jessica Rich. I am a professional miniature painter (primarily 32mm scale fantasy figures). I was encouraged recently to try painting a flat. Here is my first go at it. This is Circe. Please let me know your thoughts as this is new territory for me.

Painted with acrylics.

Hi Jessica, welcome!
Nice work!

I particularly like the physiognomy of your flat - that perfectly gives back the vulpine character of Circe...
Looking forward to see more pics of your artworks!

Best regards-
sandor

.... It looks   PERFECT !! this 80mm bust !!

No doubt we won you all respect...

One question : how long did it take you to paint it (in hours?), of course in acrylic ..

A territory for you ??  Noooooooooo, if you compete, you would take the podium !! and ... against all of us, hobbyists only, this is unfair !  ;D ;D ;D ;D 8)  ....   You are"formidable"  (in English, not same meaning as in French !)

Hi Jessica,

carry on painting flats. What you have done to this figure/bust is really breathtaking. As Glen said- welcome to the dark side of figure painting...... ;)
I know already your work from the 28mm Fantasy range and I am very pleased to see your first flat.

Wow - thank you all for the very warm welcome and responses to my first flat. I'm already trying to decide what I'd like to paint next. :)

@Hannibal - Circe took me around 16 hours to complete.

Hello Jessica,
Terrific work indeed.
If you are interested in meeting other flat painters, the Long Island Show is Nov. 20-21. Quite a few flat painters will be there, including MFCA Grand Masters Greg DiFranco and Penny Meyer. There will also be a flat vendor in attendance, Little Tin Figure who has hundreds of unpainted flats for sale.
If interested, contact me for details.
