I'll try Mike, actually could use the metal nude and polished on the blade with some thin varnish layer to stop any oxidation.

Not an expert in Midde age = do I need to cut out a second blade, to keep only an axis, like the halberd below, or only top blade, to have a voulge or a bill??
Or can both be kept (without the spike) ?? or has no sense
