Sorry to say that, but I m in dead end ...... I m useless to do with natural materials and flat figures. After 3rd attempt I give up for a while  ..... I will discuss with you at Kulmbach 2019 - how to and what to use ...... nevermind, I will continue with painting of british cavalry at different toppic

It's looking good. It needs to  be crowded to give the impression of the charge. This does mean that some figures may be partially hidden behind others. It might help if you make the ground slope upwards from the front to the back (assuming it's a one-sided, boxed diorama) so more of the figures are visible.
Keep up the good work. There aren't enough of us diorama makers around.

Hi lads, I need an advice ...... I have started to prepare diorama, it should be 40 cm long/ 10 cm height. What do you think? is it overcrowded or not? ...... I guess hussars are fine in crowd as the first line and lancers needed a bit closer each other.  Any opinion will helps

charles: you did very good job with dragoons    ..... to be honest i am willing to think the same as none of the riders at the day used shabraquas. many of paintings show shabraquas some of them only lord cardigen with it dressed like in parade. i believe that plates from the book into valley of death are the most correct    unlucky without officer drawings   ....anyway smaller gottstein figures are perfect for me to create depth in diorama and i decided to use the officer without shame too     accurate or not

I'm glad the figures arrived safely. I believe that everyone wore their regimental uniforms during the charge. No shabraques were used, just the normal grey blanket and sheepskin. The figures in the Gottstein set that portray staff officer uniforms are not accurate, but nice figures none the less.


I painted some from the Gottstein set a while ago, so here they are again.

......after I have received some Gottstein figures from Charles, I had to jump on some of them. Figures are a little smaller than figures from Charles and thinner. Some details are casted fine some is needed to paint. I was browsing inet for days to find correct officer uniform but only I have found pics from movie or Bistulfi as he painted the figure. I decided to paint more like in the movie so the result attached below.
